Would definitely stay here again
Our flight arrived around 10 in the morning and Marlucia let us check-in early which was fantastic. When we mentioned that this trip was our honeymoon Marlucia smiled and said she would take care of us - and she certainly did. When we got back from walking around town our room was filled with flowers and some chocolates. It was a very nice surprise. We were on the 24th floor for two nights, then went to Ilha Grande for four days and returned to a room on the 11th floor - both rooms were seaside views and worth every penny. Also, since we were not able to get the same room on way back through Rio, Marlucia gave us ½ hour massage vouchers. She really went out of her way to make our honeymoon very special. The hotel concierge was fantastic and was happy to get us reservations whenever we asked. The rooftop bar had breathtaking views of the city and wonderful drinks. The rooms could certainly use some renovations, but honestly, we didnt care about the decor since the views and the staff were all so wonderful Also, I cant say enough about the shower - amazing pressure! We would definitely stay here again - the location was perfect for us.

Great place to stay
Everything about the Marina Palace was excellent. I arrived about 10am and was allowed to check-in early. The room I was assigned had an amazing view of the beach and the entire Leblon/Ipanema area. It was clean and comfortable. Everything worked properly. The staff members I dealt with during my stay were friendly and spoke at least a little English. The bar on the roof of the hotel offered a great view of the area at night. There was plenty to do within walking distance- malls, movie theater, and of course the beach. When I had to check out, at 5:30 in the morning to make my flight, the staff was again very friendly. They offered the hotels private car to take me to the airport.(It was cheaper than the cab ride to the hotel). Overall, I was satisfied with everything about it. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

Best Location in Rio
The hotel is ok,clean and good service. We were very pleased with its location though. The hotel is in Leblon, a high end residential neighborhood. The best area to stay in Rio. Across the street from the hotel, there is Leblon Beach, which is not as crowded and poluted as Ipanema and Copacabana. Three blocks inland there is the main street:Av. Ataulfo de Paiva, a nice street full of restaurants, nice stores and even a shopping mall.We took our 9 years old daughter with us. At night the three of us enjoyed walking along the avenue, have dinner in one of the many restaurants and go back to the hotel by walking knowing that the area was completely safe. If you take kids with you, dont think twice. Stay here.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Instead of having breakfast at the hotel which is always expensive. Go to the main street, three blocks away and have breakfast in one of the many succo (juice) places. They all have an impresive variety of natural juices and sandwiches.
