A sophisticated, friendly, affordable hotel in a chaotic city

During our recent 9-night stay in Bangkok, we found the Pullman King Power to be in a good location with services at an affordable price with the quality one would expect of a luxury hotel. Location: If you are using the BTS (Skytrain) to get around, the Victory Monument stop is only about 2 blocks away. The free tuk-tuk shuttle will get you to the mall and a quick walk through Century Mall will get you to the station (and perhaps a good place for breakfast at Mr. Donut and getting cash at the plethora of ATMs). Siam Square (shopping) is two stops away with easy connection to the Siam BTS line for access to river taxis, MRT (subway line), Jim Thompson house, train station, etc. Hotel Services: The front desk and curbside service was outstanding. We were offered free drinks at Glen Bar (in hotel) at check-in and our rate included two sodas or juice each day and 4 hours a day for Internet service. The hotel spa was offering a 40% discount on massages (ask for it) with high quality staff and facilities. With a generous tip, we paid around $45USD/each for a 1 hour and 30 minute traditional Thai massage. Of course, this is expensive in Bangkok and there is a place across the street that is much cheaper; however, we thought it was well worth the price given the level of service. The pool is fantastic and we found the hotel buffet meals very good and affordable (breakfast was around $15USD/each and dinner $22USD/each).
