Off the beaten path, but worth the hunt.
Our stay at Krone got off to a bad start through no fault of the hotel: the cabbie at the Zurich train station had great difficulty finding the Krone in Winterthur. After that, things got better rapidly. The location is ideal, close to transportation, nice shops and a wonderful "locals" German restaurant. Very nice Continental breakfast and decent meals at noon. Some of the desk clerks could use better training in local attractions. A good 3-star choice.

The breakfast was great, but the evening meals are expensive

Traveler's tip on dining
99% of all the resturants are very pricey-$22.00 to $32.00 a plate for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (the really sad part is that no one was eating). You would think that they would take a hint. Everyone survived on sandwiches.
