A bit run down
I just spent a few nights at the Grand St Leger. As the description states, it is across the street from the downs, about 1 mile from the center of town: easy access from many directions. I was there when there were quite few guests, so the staff had plenty of opportunity to interact with me, which they did in a very friendly and professional manner. One of them offered to collect my heavy case from the car, haul it up 2 flights (not an easy task), and did so gracefully. The room looked good, as in the photo. 4 poster bed, simple designer furniture, nice color schemes. 42" LCDTV. The condition of it, was worse, though. The floors squeaked really bad, and the some of the bathrooms fixtures were leaky, broken or unclean. Furthermore, traffic from the main street could be heard at all time of night. I think that the innkeeper should spend a night in hiser rooms every so often, so as to witness what the guests are living with (e.g. discover that there is no light switch accessible from the bed).
