Not Your Ordinary Hotel - In A Good Way
This is an older renovated hotel basically in the heart of the South Beach Art Deco district. Two blocks away from Ocean Drive on Collins Ave, its a great location for getting off of the main drag and having a quiet place to come back to after being out on the town. The front desk was very helpful, especially after we found out that we needed to urgently receive a fax. The staff was very helpful in accommodating us. Clean rooms, decorated with modern minimalist furnishings, I think that most rooms are suites. All for the price of a hotel room. It was great, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in South Beach. BTW, great cuban restaurant right across the street; it has been there for years and years.

AVERAGE HOTEL WITH GREAT AMENITIES
My stay at Metropole was "interesting". I enjoyed having TWO 42in flat screens and a separate bedroom for a reasonably low price. State of the art Kitchen appliances, TV, CD player...awesome. What disturbed me was the quality of the building. The floors were unlevel throughout the building. Unlevel floors? In a hotel? 1 elevator. There were numerous times i would walk half a mile to get to my room just to find out that the key card would not work. This happened a couple of times during my 4 night stay. Another issue was check-in time. It may or may not have been stated that check-in time was at 3pm. I arrived around 10am. I was not allowed to check-in at all! So I had to wait 5 hours to check in! I have never been told to wait to check in ever before at a hotel! Another thing was parking. At simular hotels, parking was FREE (Nassau Suites Hotel)! This place charged $30 a night. I parked elsewhere and saved a bit of money. Additionally, a $100 block was placed on my credit card for use of the room while i stayed there. This is in addition to what I paid for a 4 night stay. This may be a new thing, i dont know. Overall, the service seriously needs improvements...if you say someone will take my luggage to my room...then have the people do that. I ended up taking my own luggage to my room. I like the amenities of this hotel, but the service...building structure is enough for me to pursue staying at another hotel.

Worst experience ever
Very unprofessional management. During my stay the fire department evacuated the building twice in the middle of the night and staff could not shut the alarm off. From 12 midnight to 6 am all guests had to sleep on the floor of the hallways because the noise in the rooms was worse than the noise outside. I requested a refund and the Manager did not even answer my emails. DO NOT GO THERE.
Dont take your family to this hotel.
