Convinince to Legoland...Thatīs about it.

I chose this hotel fro two nightsmainly because of the private entrance to Legoland. The place is really nice, but not worth the price...Even for Expedia. In the future, I will just stay down the street at the Holiday Inn or a comparable location. The park is small and one can see it all in about 7 hours. I will not stay at the Sheraton in the future, they charge for everything, even the cookies they send up to the children! I stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton last time I visited San Diego and although it is a downgrade, many services like internet were free...Even the water bottles were free!! This place is just nice.

Legoland for the kid

We choose this hotel because of the proximity to Legoland. The hotel has about 4-5 separate buildings which isn’t to far from registration. Suggest getting a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor for peace of mind, since the balcony on the 1st floor is too easy to access. Our initial room was on the 1st floor and when we requested a higher floor, they easily accomodated us (about 5 mins to change rooms). The room was clean and so was the bathroom, the bed was springy (has problems sleeping). Be prepared to add an additional $24 ($12 for parking and $12 for resort fee) the resort fee includes wifi, just read the flier on what else it includes. The private entrance is from the back of Legoland and is on a downhill so we parked in the lot just before the path because we anticipated a whole day at Legoland. There are plenty of restaurants around the hotel and Legoland, including a costco and a premium outlet mall about 1-2 miles away.

There is a Target and Walmart less than 10 miles away with some good and cheap reastaurants. Suggest mapping the Target or Walmart with a GPS or online since wifi is included.

A Few Annoying Issues

This hotel is fairly pricey, yet charges ON TOP OF THE ROOM RATE a $12/day "Resort Fee," even if you do not use the "resort amenities" (a pool and gym--trust me, this place is NOT a resort!) PLUS a $12/day parking fee for self-parking--and you can only get there by car! It’s a nice hotel, but these add-on charges (explained as the way the franchise owner gets his money) are ridiculous. I was promised a courtesy refund on the parking, and never got it. We had room service breakfast due to an early departure. The food was lukewarm and delivered without a cart or table, forcing us to eat on the bed and the desk, which was uncomfortable and ridiculous. And the elevators from the garage (which is not well marked) can be MILES from your room! At least the Internet is free.

If you’re desperate to be able to walk to Legoland, this is a great choice. But it’s pricey for families and I don’t know where you’d put a rollaway bed if your kids are in the same room with you. You certainly wouldn’t want to have to feed the kids here. Drive into the Village and eat breakfast at The Daily News.
