Privacy????
Our beach front cottage was lovely, but with a cottage adjacent to it, and several duplexes directly behind it, we found it difficult to dress or sleep in our bedroom because of the see-through blinds. If I can clearly see people on the lawn outside the bedroom, or on the decks behind us while the blinds are down, I’m pretty sure that they can see clearly into the bedroom, too. Not exactly the vacation my husband and I had planned. Won’t go back.

Old Florida Charm
The staff at Conch Key Cottages was incredible! Helpful, friendly and very accomodating. The cottages near the water are old but they are filled with charm. For those who remember staying in a cottage or cabin on the lake as a child you will relive those memories. The facility is very quiet and perfect for families or couples who want a nice relaxing getaway. The extra perks (daily continental breakfast basket, except Sundays, and the free Kayak availablity is just another added benefit.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Traveling with children, check out the "Aqua Ranch" just up the highway in Marathon. An exciting opportunity to snorkel with Cobia and Red Snapper. The staff are great, this is an up and coming attraction that is in its infancy but is very reasonably priced.

Pleasant few days, will go back
Nice, casual cottages at water’s edge right off Hwy. 1 Fresh pastries and juice oranges delivered every monring with coffee. The full kitchen with dishwasher and large refrigerater plus grill (with charcoal) reduced eating out. Small pool and no swimming beach. We really enjoyed use of free kayaks. Away from hustle but close enough for convenience. Large flat screen TV w/DVD used one rainy day. Office has some DVDs, games and small library.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Dolphin Research Center near as well as several snorkling/dive companies. Use the kayaks - great way to see key.
