My son lives in Nashville and we stayed at the Millenium. Was very impressed with the service we received. The rooms were nice. I think they are probably due for a makeover soon. Some of the wallpaper was peeling off and the tile was cracked in the bathroom. The appearance of the room when you walked in was very inviting. I will definitely return here. The price was right.

Impressed

It has been years since I stayed at this hotel, and I remember it as good, but they have definitely improved. The beds were comfortable. I didn’t notice any noise problems. Location is a bit outside of downtown but still convenient. I have already booked another stay.

Halloween Weekend Visit

The Millenium Maxwell House probably was in its prime 30-40 years ago. As you drive into to the long tree lined entrance, you will readliy notice the signs of disrepair. Think "really old Howard Johnsons" and you won’t be disappointed. I was hoping for more along the lines of a newer Embassy Suites or even a Holiday Inn Express. I am not a Hotel Snob and normally consider a Hampton Inn as a perfect weekend getaway. But this hotel isn’t anywhere close to that level. The location of the Maxwell House is not that close to downtown, but is very close to the major highways. There is a Starbucks just across the street (not walking distance). But the area surrounding the hotel is nasty and run down. I am guessing the homes in the area sell for $50-75k. This hotel is fine if you want to use it to sleep and quickly get on and off the highway. But there are a lot better places to stay (downtwon) if you really want to enjoy yourself.

Stay closer to the center of Nashville so that you can enjoy the music scene on foot and you don’t have to drink and drive.

For the price....

For the price, this hotel is ok. The room was so so but the bathroom had mildew on the ceiling and grunge around the edges of the floor - but I have been in worse hotels. The beds were comfy and the staff is friendly - although no more free Goos Goos?????? The girl at the desk said you now have to buy them in the gift shop. What is up with that? I will go back just because of the price and the easy access to the highway and the free shuttle downtown. It is a busy hotel so good luck finding close parking on a Saturday night.

Highly recommend!! Got great rate on Expedia. Large room with great view!! Super comfortable bed and great flat screen tv! Nice restaurant. Look forward to returning!!!

great experience

This is NOT a 4 star hotel, but it is a very clean place to stay. The front desk employees were very friendly and helpful. The shuttle drivers were funny and informative. The room was very clean except for an ugly carpet stain. The only complaint I have is that the toilet was not flushing properly. We had to pull the lever 2 or 3 times.

I really only needed a hotel to stay at after a flight and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this hotel. Definately worth the price.

Great location and value!!

I was really pleased with the Millennium. The price was awesome and the location was perfect. The beds were comfortable. The only down side was the carpet in my room. Looks like it needs replaced. However, that did not diminish the value for the room. Close to a Starbucks and to two major highways and downtown. Perfect!! I would definitely recommend it to all.

Great deal

The hotel was located outside of downtown Nashville, but this was a plus. We could park the car at the hotel and they have a shutlle that would take you to anywhere with 5 miles and pick you up as well if before 10:30 Pm. the hotel is very nice and is convienent to highways if you are driving. The area is clean and safe

Lacking only one thing

Great hotel except it loffered very poor lighting in the lavatory area, which was a very small surface area.

The shuttle service is a huge value to the customer staying at the hotel. The hotel service and shuttle service employees go above and beyond expectations.

There is a huge number of shows, sports events, Grand Ole Opry and many other entertainment venues.

Not Impressed At All!

I had somewhat high hopes for this hotel, but those high hopes diminished when I stepped in my room. First, let me say the people were very nice and welcoming. However, upon getting into my room, my immediate thought was, "luckily, I only need to be here for one night". The carpeting had stains all over so I was not about to walk around in my bare feet. The room had an old smell to it and the furniture itself was stained also. I was somewhat mortified by the old pillows that you would find on a couch at your great aunt’s house, and most likely a permanent fixture of the room, laid in between the pillows I was suppose to sleep on for the night. Doors had gouges taken out of them,my door lock was extremely loose to the point of almost falling off, mold was on the ceiling in the bathroom, and when I took a shower the water would not drain properly despite the fact that the plug was completely out of the tub. I was standing in water that covered my entire foot for most of the shower, which grosses me out. Just not a place I would ever choose to stay again. Sorry, gave it a try, but definitely not again and now I somewhat question the reviews that were posted. Not sure I would take the deals listed again either. Again, so not impressed!

friendly service

Check in was quick, room was clean and updated. Check in staff and shuttle driver friendly and helpful. Shuttle service to downtown was handy. Had to wait a while for pick up but not too bad. Would not want to walk around the neighborhood, did not feel particularly safe. Starbucks across the street was convenient.

Not Impressed

No free internet, that’s a thing of the past but this hotel does not offer it. Nor do they offer complimentary breakfast of any kind. Staff wasn’t very friendly either. Will not go back.

Better options cheaper elsewhere

Rooms are undeniably comfy, but prepare for a walk and elevator ride to your room (if you brought a lot of luggage, this is a pain). And the front desk staff were not particularly helpful when they had given away my room even though I had paid for the previous night and stated (through Expedia) that I was paying for the previous night so I could check-in at ~8am.

Extremely Good Value

The hotel was clean, the room nicely appointed and spacious enough. There was a charge for everything on the television, and there was also a hefty charge for internet service, which is usually free, even in budget hotels. The shuttle is a nice service, the drivers friendly and accomodating. There needs to be a better way to let travelers know exactly what time to appear for the shuttle - I was told to be in the lobby at 7:00 a.m. and there was no shuttle for at least 30 minutes - luckily I had a car or I would have been late for an important meeting. I left something in my room, and housekeeping still has not returned my call about it, over a week later.

This hotel was an excellent place to save money because it is a modern, high-quality venue with special Expedia pricing. Not downtown but worth the short commute. For cheaper parking downtown, DON’T use the surface lots that are everywhere, use the public lot behind the public library - $6 max for 24 hours!

Not impressed

Very bad hotel was charged alot of money for smoking in a non smoking room when I am a non-smoker, will never stay there again and putting this on facebook to let others know, what this hotel is doing to people

Recommend

Nice clean hotel. Shuttle gets you to downtown in 5 minutes. Shuttle does stop running at 10:30 at night so if you are into the Broadway nightlife you might need to take the 10 dollar cab ride. Not really thrilled that they rent out the hotel bar for parties. Seems this should be reserved for guests. Third time I’ve stayed at this hotel. Good bang for your buck.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

Cant beat the live music on Broadway. Even if country music is not your thing still lots of fun. Also, Bailey’s Pub is a nice place to catch the games on TV.

Great Value, very comfortable, and great location. My favorite part was the complimentary shuttle that can drop-off/pick-up within a 5 mile radius.

The Parking was the pits for handycapped people but the room was great.

A very nice hotel with excellent value

I enjoyed my stay here. The staff was nice and helpful, the service was great, the room was fine and the price was right. The hotel shuttle was a huge benefit.

This hotel was wonderful!!! Me and my friends went there for a weekend and had no complaints. The double rooms we had were roomy and the beds are SO COMFORTABLE!!!

Very nice hotel

Hotel has a shuttle that runs from 7a until 11p. Very nice to have transporation to and from downtown and not have to find parking.
