Not going back, but I;m still drunk
The facilities were nice but I felt as if it was short staffed, no face towels, no variety in food (they had a variety of restaurants but they were never all open and included with the all inclusive. The staff was willing to make accommodations but it still interrupted our stay. It took a day to find open areas to eat and don’t get hungry after midight, the menu is very limited. Drinks were always available but at times our group was hungry for a meal. Great destination for the novice traveler.

I would definately use this hotel again
The hotel was beautiful, the beach was great & the food was delicious. Each staff member greeted us as we passed with a "Buenos dias" or an "hola". That made me feel welcome. The only thing I didn’t like was the hard sell for the vacation club.

above & beyond
there are 2 hotels side by side, one that is on the beach & one that is further from the beach, but newer...we stayed in the newer one(sandos playacar riviera). hotel staff went above & beyond...they made our stay wonderful...proposed to my g/f on the beach with the "romantic dinner package" that i recommend for the guys to treat your ladies. one thing i don’t recommend is using Best Day travel for your excursions. i bought 2 tickets to Xel-Ha from the rep on site (Alan) & he said the total charge was $150, but he failed to mention there was an addtl commission charge which we could have avoided by paying for the tickets directly at Xel-Ha. also, unless you’re interested in their timeshare or investing in their real estate, don’t do the tour. i’m not sure if we’ll do the all inclusive next time since we’re vegetarian and their selection of vegetarian items was limited (which was expected). other than that, the hotel is a gem. please consider tipping the hotel staff when the opportunity arises since they make only $10-$20/day. Have fun on your trip and hope this helps!
