Residence Inn Marriott Melbourne

A great hotel at a reasonable price.

My girlfriend and I went down to Melbourne and stayed at the Residence Inn. The hotel was quite new and very well maintained. They had a breakfast every morning, which was fantastic, and it has everything from eggs to cereal to fruit to waffles and is one of the better hotel breakfasts I’ve had. On one of the nights they had a BBQ with hamburgers, hot dogs, potato and pasta salad, beer, and all the fixings and everything was made fresh right outside on the grill. That was really cool. The rooms are quite nice and ours had a full size fridge/freezer, a cook-top, microwave, and dishwasher. We saved money by being able to cook full meals in the room and there is a grocery store right across the street which was convenient. The rooms were very clean and the bed was perfect. The staff was responsive and very courteous. The only down side is that there is no hot-tub which would have been great after sightseeing all day. Also, the pool is on the East side of the building so in the late afternoon/evening it’s a little cool for a swim being that the pool is in the shade at that time. All-in-all I would definitely stay there again.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The beach is only a short drive away and the city of Melbourne is within a short drive of Cocoa Beach, Kennedy Space Center, Sebastian inlet, etc. It’s a good place to be if you are going to explore that part of Florida. The hotel is near really good Mexican and Seafood restaurants as well.

Newly built last year, this hotel is kept immaculate. The room was spacious and clean and the bed very comfortable with an assortment of pillows of different softness. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the hotel staff were knowledgeable about the area. The pool was clean with a large supply of towels and extended hours. There was a computer room with a printer for your boarding pass and the other travelers were very courteous about sharing it. The water pressure was good and the tub and shower clean and new-looking.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

My relatives who also came for the same family wedding stayed at a cheaper hotel, but reported cigarette smoke in their curtains and unkempt surroundings. I would rather pay a little more and awaken refreshed and comfortable.
