Very happy
Were very pleased with this hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, esp. appreciated female evening bartender. Lovely courtyard where we spent much time. Great location for sightseeing. Best continental breakfast of our trip. Very accomodating.

Pleasent supprise
After a long flight from California, a train ride and taxi we finally arrived at a most unassuming entrance to the Hotel Kolbe. Inside is a totally different story. This could be called a Boutique hotel. While not large it is elegant. By European standards our "standard double room" was huge. If you have seen their web site, we had one of the newer rooms with a king sized bed and the wooden wall at the headboard. The bath was new, spacious and clean. The staff were efficient, cheerful and most helpful. The restaurant and bar are small and intimate. The buffet breakfast while not extraordinary was very good and plentiful. Not the typical hard roll and coffee. The next time we are in Rome you can be sure we will stay at this hotel.
