1st trip to New Orleans
Staff was very nice...bed was great, but place feels old. (I know its historic!) Stayed in a two story, liv area down , bedroom up. Downstairs had musty smell. Narrow stairway to bedroom. Basically a bed and dresser. Bathroom very very small but hot water plentiful. Next time I would stay a little farther away from Bourbon Street and all the commotion. Did have a fun time and ate some great food. Took a carriage ride with Dave (tourquoise carriage) from Jackson Square. Lots of fun. Went to aquariam and was pleased. Took a swamp/bayou trip and that was very cool. Saw lots of crocs. All in all a good trip.

Best Place in the French Quarter
The Maison de Ville was in an excellent location. The staff was very friendly and efficient. It was great to have coffee and croissants brought to our room every morning. I will definately stay here again.
Traveler's tip on dining
The best oysters were at ACME Oyster Bar. Dont forget the Hurricanes at Pat OBriens. Restaurant August had great food, but bad service. Emerils Delmonico had the best service and the BBQ Shrimp and Grits were incredible. Dont forget to go to the Lousiana Pizza Kitchen while in New Orleans.

Great Hotel in the French Quarter
We had booked a room in the Maison de Ville, but when we arrived they had a big wedding party going on, so they upgraded us to a cottage in the Audubon Cottages. What a great room! The Audubon Cottages are about a block away from the Maison de Ville in their own private courtyard. We had cottage 3 which has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a very nice sitting area. We stayed in the bedroom with a nice fireplace. It also has its own small outdoor courtyard with lush vegatation, bench, table and chairs and a small fountain. We had the complimentary continental breakfast in this courtyard every morning. The common courtyard has a very nice pool. We swam the first night and we were the only ones there. I was told it is the first swimming pool built in the French Quarter. There are not many tourists visiting New Orleans right now, so it is a great time to go. Most everything in the French Quarter is open for business. Only downside was the tile floors in the room needed a good cleaning. I dont think the room had been used much, and it was a little dusty.
Traveler's tip on dining
We had dinner at two "name" restaurants in New Orleans - Antoines and Restaurant August. Both were very expensive and I didnt feel they lived up to their reputations. The food was OK, but not at the level I had expected. Also ate lunch at the "Court of the Two Sisters" which has a nice outdoor patio, but agin is quite expensive and a bit over rated. They did have exceptional biscuits and turtle soup though... Try the "Cafe du Monde" for great cheap coffee and beignets.
