Fun staff

Hotel staff was very courteous and fun to talk to. Hallways (not on smoking floors) smelled very good.

Perfect for business or fun!

Have stayed here several times and enjoy the good location, friendly staff, comfortable beds and quiet halls. Very near lots of good restaurants and shops.

Walking distance to lots of good restaurants - Clayton has a great "menu" of eateries and bars right nearby.

Hotel has a shuttle to and from airport which is complimentary, but only until 10 pm. Cab ride is about $25-$30.

Beautiful Lobby, Pool was cool,

We were placed in an older part of the towers, not a room with a view. Carpet an Bath could use some updating. Very friendly and helpful staff. Met our needs but was slightly dissappointed with the room after walking through the main lobby. Would try to negotiate the rates.

Just Okay...

Room was small and in the older part of the hotel. Obviously geared more to business travelers than leisure travel but it was clean and a good value for it’s price .

Poor Service

The hotel was under construction so it was quite a mess during our stay. When we checked in, the concierge took us to a particular person at the counter to check in; however, she did not even acknowledge us. After standing there for over 5 minutes I said something and she just pointed to another person at the counter who would apparently check us in. The air conditioning did not appear to be on so we turned it on and went to dinner. When we returned, the room was still not cool so I reported it to the counter. They wanted us to wait in the uncomfortable room until someone fixed the A/C rather than move us to a room with working A/C - I can’t believe they don’t check this prior to assigning a guest to a room. They could not fix the A/C so we got to move to a room with A/C. I have to say it is the loudest A/C you have ever heard and the carpet in the room is damp near the A/C. No special amenities even as simple as coffee in the morning o a paper unless you pay. We have stayed in other Crowne Plazas and been quite satisfied but would not recommend this one.

Good hotel

Room was clean and comfortable. Did not use any services.

Pretty good for the price.

I was surprised that the room was without a microwave and there was no food vending machines in the entire hotel. The room was nice aside from that, especially the bathroom. Nothing much to do nearby but it was in the business district.

Excellent value!

The room was small, but comfortable and clean. The housekeeping staff were friendly. Construction in the lobby was a bit difficult, but was almost complete! Excellent hotel and very accomodating-esp. with a small dog!

for the weding we attended and comfort of the bed and room, for me it was outstanding. I really injoyed my stay, until next time.

Great place to stay

Even tough our stay was only one night, it was a great one. The beds were extremely comfortable, the room very clean and the hotel was quiet. We would definitely consider returning.

Hotel was OK for the price, restuarant was terrible, rm clean,bed very comfortable.Staff was the best..courtesy shuttle to airport great...rm not ready..driver took us to mall to kill time then came back to pick us up..

Great Location

This is the second time that we have stayed at the Crowne Plaza/Clayton. The beds are very comfortable and the linens soft. We enjoyed our stay, also the restaurant served good food.

Minor bathroom issue

Overall very clean and well kept. Bathroom is very clean but the shower drain is clogged and you have to shower quick before the water overflow the tub. Probably need to wait half an hour for the water to drain before next person can shower. This is probably an isolated incident but just thought to mention it. Otherwise the room and bath is kept in very good condition. The staff is friendly and willing to help.

I’d stay there again.

Our stay was very nice. However, when we arrived at our room, the door was not latched and there were items left from the cleaning crew. I wondered if they had double booked the room but the desk clerk assured me they had not. I guess I would have expected a "thank you" gesture for being reasonable (i.e. a cocktail coupon or a free breakfast). It’s kind of scary to walk into a room that is not quite what you expect.

Great quality, inexpensive price

I was very pleasantly surprised at how luxurious the hotel was in comparison to what I paid for it. The room was very clean, flat screen tv, huge comfy bed, and the staff were fantastic. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone going to St. Louis.

NIce but old

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Sunday July 27th. I was on business for a Monday meeting. The lobby, restaurant and bar area is very nice. The elevators and rooms are very old. The room had an LG flatscreen (very nice) and the new bedding but the room itself was nasty. Very old, mold in the bathroom, furniture was beat up, etc.

Time to renovate

Not something I’d really recommend until some renovations have been made. Definitely new carpet, doors and the overall inside appearance be could use an update. Was disappointed that the hallways and elevators had a lingering musky smell, masked with cheap cleaners. Our room had no power when we first arrived so waiting to have that fixed wasn’t exactly in the plans. The beds were comfortable and the staff was polite, friendly and very helpful. Please keep us informed on any updates and we’d be sure to book again. :o)

Frustrated

The cleaning service knocked loudly on the door starting at 8:30AM - we were from another time zone, and it was more like 6:30AM for us..it felt like harassment. We were, after all, on vacation and it felt like they were making our stay all about them. Two out of the four days they didn’t make up the room at all! And the other two days I guess they did because we left a card in the door that asked for the room to be made up. There was no "do not disturb" sign available to put on the door. One time they came pretty late in the evening and she looked frustrated to have me answer the door in my nightgown - so she tossed me a couple towels and one washrag. Thoughtful! (Room 604 by the way.) The hotel was clean and well kept...I guess I wouldn’t say "don’t" go to this hotel - this may have been just a one time, odd experience.

Would go back again

Room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was a little tight but worked for my short stay. Water pressure was great!
