Down pillows & comforter!
I stayed here on my last night in Ho Chi Minch City. It was SO nice. The pool is nice. The breakfast buffet was delicious! And the beds.... the most comfortable night sleep I had in Vietnam. Down pillows and comforters. I stayed 4 nights at the Continental for almost the same price and it was pretty run-down. The New World Hotel was great and I wish I spent every night there.

could have been better
check in procedure was excellent. lady at the desk was friendly and efficient. room was tired and smelly...i think this was due to the old carpet. carpet was peeling from the sides. had a rollaway installed but was not given at the time i requested for it. rollaway mattress was so lumpy and old that it made my back ache. bugs on the bed too, woke up with bites twice. rooms need renovation. staff are generally alright, a bit hard to converse in english though. some come across as rude since they cannot express well.

A great place to staym HCMC.
It really gets better every time. The staff remembers me and greets me with warmth and good cheer.

Good deal for the money
We stayed in the New World for a few nights as part of a vacation in Vietnam with my girlfriend and cousin. Our other options we were considering were Park Hyatt and the Sheraton. We opted for the New World since we would be out most of the time and therefore wouldn’t need posh amenities. New World was still a nice hotel and we were really satisfied with the value. The breakfast there was fantastic and the service was good as well. They have an Exotissimo travel desk in the lobby, with whom we arranged private tours for a steal each day. The hotel’s location was good as well. It is within walking distance of the market and many other sites. I would recommend staying in this hotel and eating at the Park Hyatt, Square One, which was awesome. Try the scallops in a sticky rice ball. My mouth is still watering thinking about that dish.

Helpful staff and great restaurant
The hotel staff are very responsive and friendly. All with a smile! The hotel restaurant has an amazing buffet; tried breakfast and dinner and highly recommend it!

The room was NOT a 5*!! It was decent size and was OK, but NOT a 5*, a 4* at best!
Location of the hotel was not especially good as well. Room OK, but I was booked into an executive room, and this was far from one; a 4* at best! The executive lounge however, was decent, food decent, and unlimited drinks in the afternoon. The staff did a nice job overall.

Will stay there any time we go to Viet Nam
Internet worked. Bar is cozy. Included breakfast was buffet style and very good, including made to order eggs if desired. Hotel staff extremely cordial and nice. Arranged for a tour of Ha Long Bay which was an outstanding one day trip including a delicious seafood lunch on board the wooden tour boat.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Don’t miss the tour of Ha Long Bay, We paid $145 for the first person and $45 for each added person. Cab to pier, speed boat to Cam Bay, cab to large wooden boat, cruise around the islands and tour of the National caves, then by car back to the Hotel in Haiphong.

At best 4 stars hotel
Over-priced for the standard of rooms and facilities. At best 4 stars. Also room was spartanly furnished with CRT TV, old bathroom facilities, stained carpet etc. Certainly need to renovate.
