Convenient, Comfortable, and a Good Value
The Wingate is easy to locate, and is convenient to dining, shopping, and recreation in the Lexington community. Lake Murray is accessed via a short, pleasant drive in the country. Around the hotel there is not much to see, just a suburban interstate crossroad, but it’s convenient. The hotel hosts families, so the pool can be full of kids, and sometimes the corridors get noisy in the morning. But that wasn’t an annoyance for me. Breakfast was good, and plentiful, in an attractive setting. Housekeeping staff were friendly, and made sure my room was serviced promptly. They also left me alone when I asked. The daytime desk clerk called every day to see if everything was all right with my room, which was big and comfortable. I think I got a good deal for my money.
Traveler's tip
A car is essential, since there is not much within walking distance, and it’s not pedestrian-friendly along this suburban corridor. Traffic can be heavy at times on Sunset Boulevard. A traffic signal at the hotel allows safe turns.

i had a great experience at the hotel and would defiantly stay there again. It was very comfy and clean. The staff was awesome and very helpful with directions and tips on things to do. i can’t think of one thing i didn’t like about this hotel and i recommend staying here to any one who is in the lexington/columbia area.
