OK for a cheap night
When we got there the room smelled heavily of smoke even though I had booked non smoking. They did change us with no problem. The breakfast was cereal and prepackaged rolls.

Pretty okay
There is a wonderful family restuarant next door. The room was clean but smelled of cigarents, a little fabrez would have helped. Tub was wide and water hot. Not to bad for a simple hotel.

Comfortable
We were very pleasantly pleased. Sleeping "under the stars" was really a neat touch.

AWESOME FOR THE PRICE
It always really bothers me when people leave poor reviews of a hotel that they know isn’t going to have the same amenities as a hotel their spending 500 a night on. DONT BE FOOLED BY POOR REVIEWS!! This hotel is AWESOME for the price, not only was the front desk staff extremely nice, but the room was very large and clean. AND AN SUPER COOL BONUS: the room had an entire galaxy, seriously this was a work of art, painted on the ceiling in glow in the dark paint...it was amazing. :)

Could have been better
hallway was like an oven, mold in bathroom. Sleeping area was clean. When we went to checkout we waited about 45 minutes while the deskclerk fiddled with the computer saying we had not paid, even though I had my computer confirmation/receipt....
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Lots of very nice things to do within a reasonable driving distance... would love to go back to Columbia and explore more

Travelodge Columbia West
hen I booked this hotel online, they were advertising a complimentary Cracker Barrel breakfast. Of course seeing this made me want to book the room for our stay. However when we arrived and I asked about the breakfast, I as told that they were no longer offering th complimentary breakfast and the lame excuse was that not enough guests were walking to the restaurant. I found this to be a very odd reason being that it was directly in front of the hotel!!! Needless to say I was very displeased with the false advertising and made it clear that I would not be staying with their hotel ever again, anywhere!

nice- would go back
Didn’t spend a lot of time at the hotel, but it was very clean and comfortable. Good location. Pool was small but looked nice. Would stay again.

What maid service?
We booked this hotel late on a trip to Darlington, SC for the races. We were looking for something that would be easy access on and off I-20. Unfortunately, this came with the price of a room that was not only average in terms of cleanliness, but we never received any maid service on any of the nights of our stay.
