Look elsewhere, overpriced
Lake is no longer there in its original form. Area is not as pretty therefore. The hotel is overpriced for what is available.
Comment from the hotel's management
Posted: 13-Jul-09We regret to hear your concerns regarding Moraine Lake. In order for its renowned turquoise-coloured waters to rise to capacity, Moraine Lake relies heavily on glacial melt from the surrounding mountains. Due to an unusually late and cold spring season in 2009, the lake was below normal levels until mid-June. For the last couple of weeks Moraine Lake has been enjoyed by thousands of day and overnight guests.

Not worth the money
Moraine Lake Lodge is a nice enough place - but it is certainly not worth the money. Id say its a 3 star property charging 5 star prices. Do yourself a favor and stay in a less expensive property down in Lake Louise and take the five minute drive to Moraine Lake for a daytrip. Theres really not enough to do at the lake to justify more than a few hours time. Also, the sausage I ordered for breakfast was completely inedible. I literally had to spit it our to prevent gagging. It was awful. The rest of the food was just OK, nothing special.
