Modern, Updated Hotel in Mykonos with Good Service
Hotel Thomas in Mykonos was a great place to wind up or 12-day, 3 island tour! Pros - Hotel was newly updated and very modern, with IKEA furniture and upscale sheets/towels - Nice pool and jacuzzi - Very clean - Staff was friendly. It was our honeymoon and we arrived to a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolates in our room - Our room had a balcony with two chairs... it was nice to relax there Cons - Hotel was slightly farther than we thought from the actual center of Mykonos. Its a bit off the beaten path, but still only a 5 minute drive from the center of town (after we rented a car). Staying here does mean you need to rent a car or motorcycle (the hotel has a cycle rental right there)
Traveler's tip
- Make sure to rent a car or motorcycle. There are a very limited number of taxis on the island, and if you are only there for a few days, it will be tough to do everything while relying on public transportation/taxis - During the high season, a car is about 55 Euros/day (~$90 per day with the exchange rate in July 2008)
