A rose among the thorns

I was quite surprised when we checked into the Amari Boulevard Hotel. We had passed some 5 stars, which were really elaborate and grand, but the Amari matched them on a smaller scale. The staff was gracious, the food good and the room very clean. The only drawback was the location. It was in the heart of a local market and not near any tourist sights. However, the sky rail was several blocks away and travel on the sky rail was easy and reasonable. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

My 4th stay(but my last)

I have stayed here now 4 times. I will say that the hotel is not like it used to be. Great location, nice pool, nice rooms. But....they really have let the cleaniness slide. I noticed small insects on my bathroom countertop/floor. I rented two rooms, they gave me one room that smelled horrible(mildew), and made me wait hours before changing the room. I sure did not feel very "special" on this trip. Front desk seems to have a new found arrogance...

Excellent choice

I recently stayed in the Amari Hotel on my way to Ko Sumuai. My comfort and stay was great due to a number of variables that the hotel offered. The breakfast was one of them, so be sure to include that with your room stay. The choices were abundant and that one meal lasted me most of the day. There are many eating places nearby this hotel also that are low in price. The Foodland right across the way is open 24 hours and comes in handy for almost everything. The room was more than comfortable and I was upgraded to a deluxe upon arriving. The tour people located at this hotel were incredibly helpful. I chose to spend part of an afternoon at the Oasis Spa and KeiKu (sp)assisted me with the time and reservation. She also supplied me with a discount coupon and the spa transports one way for free. (Great spa!) The hotel is situated very close to the skytrain and it’s very easy to use. Huge shopping areas are located just 2 stops from the hotel. The area is international and has many types of personalities. Just walking around the neighborhood is a tourist attraction in itself. I would highly recommend the Amari, and will stay there again if I return to Bangkok.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Don’t get caught up in tour "freebies" at the airport. If you don’t book beforehand, see the tour personnel or concierge at the hotel.
