Internet Access Too Costly
I was shocked to find that the hotel charged $12.95 per day, per computer to be connected to the internet. I was travelling with my teenagers who wanted to be online, and in other Marriott hotels on our visit to Michigan this wasnt a problem. We had to use the business room for free internet, which was not as convenient as our room!

New decor theme: shower curtains with dried feces
I was at the East Lansing Marriott for four nights. The very first evening there, I was disgusted to find that the shower curtain had what was obviously dried feces stains on it and asked the front desk to replace the curtain and liner which was equally filthy. They sent someone who changed the curtain but then told me there were no new liners to be had. When another day went by without the liner being replaced, I waylaid a cleaning lady in the hallway, who found me a new shower curtain liner. There seems to be a disconnect between front desk and housekeeping. Youd think front desk personnel would be trained to handle complaints and at least check to see if issues have been addressed. And of course, the chain in general is still behind the curve in internet provision. Isnt it amazing that low-end chains are proud to offer you free internet access, while this "exclusive" hotel chain thinks guests should pay to use internet? It doesnt cost anything to wire the whole hotel to provide internet access. And the worst part is that outside the hotel there is a free wi-fi spot, but the hotel obviously jams access to that facility. Marriott needs to clean up its act, literally.

Comfortable Stay
A comfortable stay. Only grouch was that that the room was a little small with hardly any space to move around.
