Excellent in Verona

Centre of Verona
You cant really get any closer to the centre of Verona and believe me this is not a city you want to drive around in. Gabbia d’Oro is a small hotel nicely decorated, but since the building is old the rooms are somewhat small. Breakfast is nice if unimaginative. Staff are ok but really dont go out of their way to respond to concierge type requests- they seemed a bit jaded.

Best location!!!
The hotel is very well located, extremely charming. It would have been fantastic if it weren’t for one inconvenience: there was no standard shower, so every time we took a bath, the bathroom floor got completely soaked. Worst was washing my hair, then the whole place was flooded. My son had a room there too (room 103), and his was just perfect: complete, with shower box, towel racks, etc. So be sure to reserve a room like his unless you like tub bath only.
