Avoid this hotel
We just completed a cross-country road trip, and stayed at several cheap chain hotels. The Knights Inn - Modesto was undoubtedly the worst lodging experience that we have ever had. The staff was unfriendly, there were several unsavory characters in the parking area in the middle of an arguement, and we generally felt unsafe the entire time. The deadbolt/chain lock was broken in our room, as if someone had kicked in the door. The bathroom and sink didn’t appear to have been cleaned since the last guest. In the morning, the complimentary breakfast was non-existent. Please spend the few extra dollars and avoid this hotel.

the hotel is old but the rooms are comfy and the staff is awesome

Hotel is Ok
The room was cheap and perfect if you’re just stopping through town. It’s right on the edge of the downtown area. The hotel itself wasn’t bad, but the people hanging around the parking lot (and at the Denny’s in the same parking lot) were sort of sketchy.
