Superb value - will only stay here when in Toronto

Many expensive hotels offer grand lobbies but very mediocre rooms. Sutton place offers far superior rooms and service to that of establishments that charge multiples for a similar room. This is the only place I will stay when visiting Toronto.

Good, but could do better

An excellent room, good service, but totally let down by the tacky plastic drinking vessels (they don’t deserve to be called glasses) in the room. And when will Canadian hotels recognise that internet access is now a routine requirement and should be included in the room rate?

Going 110%

This is definately the Top ranking Hotel for customer servicewith all my travel experience. The staff was extremely kind and always accomodated my needs. I’d definately say they went 110% to try their best... Considering the cold weather and snow during my visit, I invested a considerable amount of time indoors and I couldn’t be happier with this choice... They even had a Sauna, Pool & Beauty Salon inside the building! Perfect! I’d gladly stay here again, but next time, during warmer conditions! I’d like to explore this great city a bit more comfortablely!

I needed an early check in and they had my room ready by 8 am. After I requested a late check out and I was able to get it easily. I totally got my moneys worth. Extremely comfortable and great location. Loved it!

would have loved to stay longer

the sutton place is a conveniently located hotel in toronto, central for touring by wheels or foot. the lobby is just gorgeous! the culinary menu looked delicious, unfortunatly didnt have a chance to indulge. i thought the staff was very accomodating and helpful. getting to the pool area is a little strange because you have to access the area by entering it from the floor above and taking the stairs down (pool and conference/banquet hall all on same floor). both expedia and the sutton place were very nice to communicate with

An Excellent Choice in Toronto

The room was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. At the bar, I recommend you try the hot chocolate with Bailey’s because they froth the cream and it is delicious.

GOOD VALUE FOR THIS UPSCALE HOTEL

The staff was outstanding. The hotel was beautiful. Service was excellent. Location was perfect. We were attending a conference at the Four Seasons, which was approximately 3 blocks away. The Four Seasons was not as nice (& people weren’t as friendly) as Sutton Place. Four Seasons Hotel was much more expensive. We were 2 blocks from the Toronto Rodeo Dr. Highly recommended.

I was in Toronto for a 3 day conference, so not much time for extracurricular activities. We did go by the shops every day on our way to the Four Seasons and we did have a car, so we drove to Niagara Falls. Fun trip with an amusement park right in the center of Niagara.

Not 4 star

The Toronto Suttton Place is not even a 3 star hotel. Please adjust your reviews. You are basing your rating on old information from the early 90’s. If I had seen the reviews on tripadvisor first, I would not have booked it.

Disappointed with Customer Service at front desk.

I booked a King Suite through Expedia and when I arrived I was given a Queen Suite. When I called the front desk to have them fix this they said I had to speak to the manager who was busy. He did not call back until the evening and when I called back he was unavailable to speak to me again. Long story short... I ended up paying for a more expensive nicer room than the one I was given. They are lacking in the customer service deptartment at the front desk. I am obviously not happy since I didn’t get what I paid for.

enjoyable stay

We just wanted an affordable hotel near downtown Toronto to take in the sites and activities the city has to offer. We had an exceptional deal on a good location. Room and service were good. One dissapointment was parking, which is high as in most of Toronto and not included in the package for the room. Also, the pool,gym or spa gym were very modest in our opinion. For the price the package could not be beat.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

One thing we learned after the first day was that tourists can save a lot of money by using the day passes for use of the public transportation like bus and subway. There is also a City Pass that can save quite a bit of money for those that plan to see 4 or 5 of the major tourist sites of Toronto.

Nice Surprise in the Middle of the City!

My husband and two teen-aged children stayed at the Sutton Place hotel while on vacation. We were pleasantly surprised by the lovely condition of the hotel and our rooms. For the price, the rooms were quite a nice: clean, spacious, modern and really comfortable. And the location just can’t be beat. We were close to the museums, the university and the subway - we didn’t need to drive at all. I would definitely recommend this hotel (and I am very picky).

I would encourage you to visit Casa Loma while you are in Toronto. I have traveled all over the U.S. and Europe and it is one of the most elegant homes/castles I have every visited.

Hotel was amazing and the city of Toronto is breathtaking. We had such a great stay there and recommend to anyone. Great price and great location.

NIce Hotel

Staff was friendly. Hotel room was clean. real nice flat screen television. Great location in downtown area. My only complaints: the cost for wi-fi in the rooms was way to high. I think it was like $17 for 1 day. The prices in the restaurant were also way to high for the quality of the food. The food was below average and the menu is very limited.

I would recommend this hotel, but I would suggest you avoid the hotel restaurant. There are plenty of nicer places with better food within walking distance for the same or less money.

Sutton Place is great

During my 4-night stay, the staff was always welcoming, attentive, cheerful, and very professional. I wish I could remember the manager’s name, because he set the example during the few times we talked. The hotel itself was always very clean and (as far as I could tell) everything was always in working order.

There for just a night. would like to stay longer and maybe see a play.

Great Room but a Noisy

For some reason we got the biggest room I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Two big rooms, hallway, and two full bathrooms! Wonderfully comfortable! Good location in the middle of town. Not many folks there so access to elevators and parking were easy. On the other hand, expensive parking ($26.11 Canadian for self-parking). Expensive recommendations for meals. Should have expected that so we found less expensive meals nearby. Outside of hotel nothing special. Room was on the street side and noisy with cars and trucks, even at night. So while this was a memorable experience for this cheap family in terms of the room we woke up early with the street noise.

V. nice hotel

V. nice hotel concerning site on map, services, facilities, and hotel conditions. Room was clean and tide..and people were smiling and friendly.. Only 3 negative points, 1) the room was back view, 2) only local channels are available on T.V. , otherwise extra movies or progs. u must pay for it... 3) Although the wireless internet is NOT FREE , it is very slow and always disconnect,,,but I was in need for it...what could I do?

I don’t have anything to complain about the Sutton Place Toronto hotel - service was friendly and fast and the hotel is pretty and clean inside. We even had pretty nice views from our room

Good location and excellent rooms

The Sutton Place is in a very good location to get to many of the downtown Toronto attractions. The rooms were very nice and well appointed. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. There is an underground parking garage if you have a car. As expected, the parking spaces are very tight. Overall the Sutton Place is a great place to stay in Toronto.

Run down

The location of the hotel is good, but the hotel is run down. Having a gym is really important to me and my husband and the gym was really poor. There were two treadmills and one was broken. For a 30 story hotel, that’s unheard of! We notified the manager and he said the treadmill was fine and if we had problems with the treadmill the next to let him know. Of course we had problems the next day, but there was no one on staff to fix it. There are much better places to stay in Toronto. I would look elsewhere!
