Great place to relax
Our first trip to the Riviera Maya and it was a good one. Petit Lafitte is a nice small hotel, breakfast and dinner were included and the food was of good quality, variety and local. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. We travelled with a small (7 month old) child and I’d recommend the hotel for a quiet getaway and a great place to relax.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Hire a car from Cancun airport, it’s a straight (two lane on each side) road to Playa Del Carmen and is cheaper than most transfer services.

Everything was terrific!
All the good things you read about Petit Lafitte are true. Nice accomodations, very friendly staff, great food, nice beach access. Overall, just a great little place if you’re not into the big hotel scene. We stayed in one of the bungalows for 6 nights. Contrary to what you might read, the beds are not uncomfortable. Yes, they’re firm, but we slept like babies. Can’t say enough about the staff, they are friendly and do everything they can to make your stay memorable. The food is great, at each and every meal. And if you need anything special, talk to David and he will take care of you. The pool there is nice too. Beach bar is great, right on the beach, and if you’re hungry for lunch, they have great lunches at a good price. No negatives at all. We’re planning to go back!

Great hotel for Relaxing
This hotel was an amazing place to stay! It was not your typical big resort type hotel, but rather a small, cozy and very relaxing place to stay on the beach. We stayed in one of the bungalows right on the beach and loved being so close to the water. There is no room service, TVs, phones or night life, but the atmosphere and proximity to the water more than made up for any lack of amenities that the other hotels might offer. If you want a place to get away from the crowds, this is the place. Beautiful beach, good food and the staff is very attentive.
