Serves the purpose!
The room was very nice and large. A/C worked well. You had to pay to get to the airport. Guess all the hotels charge. The restaurant for lunch or early dinner was in the Bar. Food good but noisy. The main restaurant open for breakfast but found the buffet not the greatest. Coffee bad. All in all we would return. No eating places close by.

Holiday Inn Sydney Airport
Close to airport for late arrivals/early departures. No close tourist amenities although train station is 2 blocks south of hotel and takes 20-30 minutes to get into heart of Sydney where the action goes early to late. Circular Quay Station is steps from Sydney Bridge, Opera House, Modern Art Museum, The Rocks (historical buildings from Sydney’s earliest days now housing shops and eateries), ferries, buses, Botanical Garden. Buy day tripper tickets at airport & some train stations to save a bundle if planning to use public transportation. Ferry rides are a wonderful way to enjoy the waterfront communities while resting feet.
Traveler's tip
Hotel is close to airport but not walkable. Shuttle operates until 6AM-11PM and stops at all airport hotels. Fee can be charged to hotel bill. Schedule return to airport with front desk. Shuttle fills quickly in peak hours. Converting USD to AUD at front desk doable but rates better elsewhere. Best choice is to take AUD from US or estimate your total needs and do a one time bank transaction upon arrival. Banks charge the same fee for any transaction amount.
