Hotel courtesy van
The only thing that bothered me is that the hotel charged me and my friend $10 each to pick us up from the airport and another $10 each to take us to the airport. Most hotels provide this service for free.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
You would definitely need transportation while staying at the Inn. There arent many local attractions near the hotel. You have to travel at least 12 miles to get to the beach, aquarium, boat rides, etc. We took advantage of the hotel van to take us to local eating establishments and took a taxi to Norfolk and Portsmouth.

Anniversary Flop
We chose the Founders Inn because of the spa. My husband and I wanted to get a couples message. They were booked up for three days straight. So that was OK we could still enjoy this nice Inn. Not really the restaurant was awful. The rooms were decorated badly and there was no cold water in the bathroom sink. The only nice thing I could say about the Founders Inn is the staff was very kind.

Even better than we expected!
When I saw the pictures on the hotels web site, I was really expecting a luxurious, high-class experience. I have to say the Founders Inn completely lived up to and exceeded all my expectations. My wife said the bed was the most comfortable she has ever slept in -- she wanted to take it home! First-class accommodations, friendly staff, at an unbelievable price. Only 20 min from Va. Beach, and much cheaper than the cheapest dive on the boardwalk. Cant wait to go back.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Starbucks right down the street. Also a grocery store -- theres a fridge in the room.
