Nothing out of the ordinary
If all you need is a cheap room for a couple nights, this hotel more than suits your needs. Granted it isnt a 5 star establishment (in addition to the drug/prostitution comment below, there seemed to be minor gang activity in the area and several panhandlers pacing up and down the service roads along I-35 trying to get whatever money they could out of passing motorists) but its a decent hotel for its basic necessity.

A place to stay if youre not really going to be there much.
Stayed here for the ACL Festival with a couple of friends. Its right next to I-35 which is convenient, and is on a bus route to Zilker Park which was really convenient. The place was kind of run down, but the staff was really nice. There is free wifi, so thats nice. The further you stray from the freeway, the sketchier the area gets. There are nicer places to stay at, but no way to beat the price.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Again, next to a bus route, so with a couple of bucks you can get to South Congress, and Zilker Park. Right next to a Shell station. Theres a Starbucks across the freeway, and and HEB about a mile away.

You get what you pay for, maybe less.
Hotel was supposed to have gone a remodel, well not my room or the hallway on my floor. Room was outdated, carpet needed replacement, bathroom was tiny, wallpaper was moldy peeling off walls and one bathroom floor tile was completely loose. I also had to wrestle with the toilet tank to get it to work properly. Staff members were friendly but not very knowledgeable of how to get to places nearby. Continental breakfast too basic. Next time im paying a bit more and getting more comfort and better service someplace else.
