Visit to Rustenburg
Very pleasant and quiet lodge. The buffets were excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Improved internet access, including availability in the rooms would be helpful.

Wonderful Introduction to South Africa’s Safari Preserves
We stayed at the Kedar after spending a week in Cape Town, and we thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night stay at the Kedar; wished we had stayed longer!! We booked one of their safaris as soon as we arrived and were able to see a fair number of animals. Kedar is not home to the ’Big 5’, but whetted our appetite for the animals we would see at other locations in the next two weeks. We booked a Super Deluxe room with a private outdoor shower and enjoyed the African-themed decor of our room; we felt like we were finally in Africa with a thatched roof and animal prints on the walls (we also had AC which made the room comfortable). I can’t say enough good things about the staff at the Kedar. They were wonderful and made us feel very comfortable there. Breakfast buffet (included in our cost) was first-rate, and we ate well while we were there. The Kedar is reasonably close to Sun City and Pilansburg (maybe a 45-minute drive). For travellers on a budget, I would recommend they stay at the Kedar and drive to those locations. We would definitely return to the Kedar should we return to South Africa.
You need a car to enjoy the area as there is no public transport. The ’must-see’ would be a safari at the Kedar; the Kruger museum at the Kedar; the Lion Park at Sun Down Ranch; activities at Sun City, especially Kwena Gardens and Valley of the Waves; and a morning safari at Pilansburg. There are no shopping, shows, or nightlife on the property; you have to drive to Sun City for those activities. The only ’safe’ dining is on the premises (or Sun City/Pilansberg), and the food is excellent for all meals.

Only stayed 1 night but would not hesitate in highly recommending this hotel a real taste of Africa
Hotel very clean and rooms beautifuly decorated in the African theme, a wide choice for breakfast, and delicious too! and the wild life in the grounds made was the icing on the cake.
