A Great Place for a Romantic Getaway
My husband and I were looking for a romantic b&b close to Schlitterbahn and Gruene for our first night away since the baby. This place was perfect. The innkeeper was so nice and although the bedroom was a little small, the bathroom was huge and the balcony overlooking the river was great too. Breakfast wasn’t fancy, but the breakfast burritos were wonderful. We took a cup of coffee and sat down by the Guadalupe to enjoy the peaceful morning... lots of steps, but well worth it! We will definitely be back again.

Already planning our return trip
This place was fabulous! The room was lovely, the view was spectacular, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast tacos were delicious. The room was also "guy friendly" (no doilies or little things that break) - according to my fiance.

Good Ambiance
We had a rough start when we got there because we were not in the specific room that I booked and the other guests got their preference over my husband and I (I’m assuming because we are in our twenties and they were a little older), however, the room they put us in was still nice. The view was breath-taking, much better than the pictures on-line, and it had a technilogically advanced bathroom with a huge jacuzzi tub, which isn’t common in a bed and breakfast. It was a little far of a walk into downtown Gruene (the reason we picked this hotel), but it was managable. It had river access, which was great and wasn’t far from the tubing depots. The breakfast and 24-hour snack bar was awesome and definitely helped since the location was a little out of the way. Overall, it was a good stay and we will be going back.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Definitely make the half-mile trip into Gruene and visit the Gristmill restaurant and Gruene Hall for great food and good music.
