Beautiful Resort
The moment we arrived at the gate we were in awe at the beautiful grounds. The "apartment" was also just as impressive--clean and very nicely furnished--only a couple of maintenance issues need improvement. Size and layout were generous and well thought out. Dont expect too much from maid service--only one of two bedrooms was cleaned daily. The beach ran a good stretch along the waterfront and was beautifully lined with palm trees. Very secluded and relaxing whether swaying on hammocks or lying on chaise lounges. However, be aware that this resort is best suited for that purpose alone--not much other activity besides golfing.
If directions are needed, be sure to ask for directions to the Palmas del Mar resort not for your complex (Marbella). It is an ideal place for close families to travel together. Be careful to keep an eye out for young children on the beach as there are no life guards. Ralphs supermarket in nearby Humacao is a good place save a few dollars on snacks or if youre in the mood to cook.

Nice hotel but very little to do
The hotel room was beautiful and well kept. It is a good place to visit if you want to do nothing. There was golf which my husband loved but very little for my son or myself to do. There was no central location to meet other people because it was a series of gated communities. There was no place close by for night time entertainment. The food choices were adequate. We especially liked Caracoles restaurant. The food prices were quite a bit expensive. If you are a first time visitor to PR, you will not get a sense of what the island is like by staying there. You have to make the 1hr trip to San Juan or else where. We rented the golf cart which is a little pricey but well worth it.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Visit Caracoles Restaurant- very personalized service Rent the golf cart to get around

Excellent!!
The Villas are set in an idyllic location. A stones throw from the sea and pool. They are beautifully maintained, very spacious, well designed, bright and light. There are lots of surrounding facilities - golf courses, horseriding, tennis. Would definitely go back.
Hire a golf car when you arrive. These are great for getting around - to the shops, golf course, tennis courts etc and the kids love them. Everyone has one and they are great fun. They range from two seater to six seater.
