Charming Older Hotel with lots of Character
If you like older hotels I would highly recommend Atholl Arms. It is a hotel with lots of character and charm. The people are wonderful and really made us feel at home. I definitely hope to stay here again.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
There is nothing better then sitting by the Tay and watching the river go by. Dunkeld is such a beautiful little village. If you get the chance, just spend the day enjoying the beauty and peace you can find there.

Has character but pretty beat up place
On the outside, the hotel is on a great spot and the lobby and restaurant have lots of character. The rooms themselves are very beat up and a mixture of character-adding old, sloped, squeeking floors, with old, raggedy blankets on the bet and 7 dollar IKEA lamps. The bathroom is covered with loose linoleum, you get a 14 inch tube TV with 6 channels, half of which are fuzzy, mattress is very old and sagged, and the "WiFi" only works if you sit in the bathtub (no joke!).
Traveler's tip
Visit the old cathedral in Dunkeld - by far the most authentic and well preserved old building we saw in entire Scotland (including all the tourist traps at Loch Ness and Sterling). Dunkeld beats them hands down. Also, LOTS of activities around the town from Quads, to Off-road training, to whitewater rafting.
