Not the Ritz but good nights rest
The hotel is under renovations. The Gift shop is a poor excuse for a hotel of this size. Was more centered around food & beverage than gifts or items that travelors might need like eyeglass repair kit, etc.

Great deal in the Boston area
Definitely a great deal for the location. Right on Mass Pike (I-90) and I-95. 15 mins to downtown Boston / 20 mins to Logan Airport. Beds are very comfortable with great pillows. Dunkin’ Donuts right down the street.

Definitely go to downtown Waltham for dinner. Great restaurants!

Nice weekend stay
Most likey considered a business hotel, our weekend was a nice stay. We took advantage of a breakfast buffet included in the price of the overnight stay for a winters break. The hotel is conveniently located to I-95/128 and only 15 mins from downtown Boston.

solid suburban Boston Hotel
Room and bedding were very comfortable. This location is convenient to everything. Only disappointment was newly added parking fees.

most comfortable beds
We have stayed at this particular hotel many times during our daughters college days at BC! When we had the opportunity to make a quick visit to Boston this past weekend we couldn’t pass up the deal that expedia was offering and the beds were absoulutely as comfy as we remembered.....defintely an excellent place to stay.

good deal at Boston
Beautiful surrounding with very nicely prepared bedrooms. Looking down on St. Charles River with sunrise or sunset gives you a romantic feeling. Water sports or golf is nearby. Indoor pool is also great. I love everything except that the next morning the housekeeping started knocking on doors at 9:30am asking when guests would leave would be too intrusive.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
plan time to do water sports. Enjoy the hotel amenities. Use the free shuttle service to go to the T station to get to down town.

nice hotel near subway terminus
This Marriott is fine. Its restaurant has a lovely overlook of the Charles River; the staff is very friendly, and they will drive you to the Riverside T-Station, 2 miles away, until 8pm at night. This means that you can park your car, take the train into anywhere you want to go, and if you return before 8pm there isn’t any addt’l expense. After 8pm, you can take a taxi back to the hotel. The restaurant food is OK; the breakfast buffet is very nice and gets you ready for a day of sightseeing. This hotel is recommended.
Be sure to take in the Science Museum’s Van deGraff (sp?) Generator - *THE* VDG generator -- the first one and largest one ever built -- for a great show of lightning. Your kids will love it.

Lovely, comfortable hotel in lush setting
We loved our 2 day stay at this hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room very spacious and the amenities were great. Fresh citrus-infused water and chocolates in the lobby were great and irresistable. We’ll definitely come back on our next trip to the Boston area.

Nicely Redone but Choice in Beds Not Good for Me
Convenient and not too far from Boston and local areas. Looked like they just renovated recently and it was quite nice. Had a room overlooking the river. Ventilation system wasn’t noisey - That’s sometimes a problem in the best of hotels. The main thing I didn’t like was the king bed. There was a pillow topper on the mattress and it was rather uncomfortable and too soft. I just stayed at a Weston and the beds were ever so yummy - not so here. The price was right though and other than the bed - it was lovely.

Near Bostom and suburbs - Close enough for driving - far enough to keep the price down.

Their Breakfast was a great price...and what was great was that it was close to the T station..they do have a shuttle that will take you there

OK, but probably won’t go back
This hotel has attractive views, the staff are friendly, and the rooms are reasonably comfortable. The housekeeping left a bit to be desired (e.g., there was a small piece of hair -- not mine -- in the paper cover under my overturned drinking glass). The pillow-top beds are comfortable, but the bottom sheets were too small, leaving much of the mattress exposed.

The hotel has a great location directly on the Charles River -- magnificent views. Also, service was outstanding and food (breakfast and dinner), absolutely delicious and, again, outstanding service in the restaurant.

Great price...nice location!
I stayed at the Marriott Newton for a weekend visit to Boston, and a weekend of games at Fenway Park. The hotel is conveniently located just a few miles from the Riverside Green line, which is the end of the line for the line that contains the stop for Fenway Park. The Riverside T stop has ample parking, and was $3.75 (as of Aug 07) for daily parking--a steal for the Boston area. The hotel itself was excellent, I stayed on the 1st floor and had a wonderful back porch with a few of the Charles. The hotel was excellent, and I will look to stay there again.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
If not staying at this hotel, I still recommend that out of town visitors park at the Riverside T stop, which offers overnight parking at $4.25/night, and taking the green line into downtown Boston. Some hotels in downtown Boston are affordable, if you plan ahead.

Nice tidy hotel
Nice hotel, what I would expect from a Marriot. Bed was very cmfy. Small bathroom but to be expected with an older hotel. Nice river view room. I would stay again. easy to get to and from Boston.

Very impressed
I liked it so much that I made a point of going to the Expedia site when I got home to write about it. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The room was spotless, very comfortable, even welcoming and the view of the river was magnificent. Dining room service at dinner was slow but at breakfast, it was fine and the waitresses were prompt and friendly.

At the intersection of Route 95 and Rte. 30, it was easy to get to Boston.

Grand lobby but small rooms.
The killer is that most of the hotels now have complimentary internet service, this hotel charges $10 a day for the same.
