Wonderful experience

From the minute we checked in our experience was fantastic. The view was amazing, suite was beautiful and beds were comfy. Pool was very nice and beach access was right there off the pool. The only thing we didn’t try during our stay was the restaurant.

Very nice stay

The hotel was clean and staff friendly. Our room in the courtyard section was large and had a full fridge with microwave and dishes/utensils. Pool area was lovely (although bar quite pricey). We will definitely go back.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Bring your own drinks and food if hanging at the pool. The staff did not prevent you from doing so although we didn’t advertise it. And if traveling summer or early fall most of the restaurants in Naples have 3 course dinners for about $25 a person--not always advertised on their website so make sure to check them out.

Beautiful Location; very nice property

We stayed in a ground floor until that opened into the pool area. Two nice pools; chairs and umbrellas available on the gulf. The food and drinks where a little expensive, but otherwise perfect.

Traveler's tip on dining

Walk down Gulfshore Blvd to First Watch for breakfast or lunch. It’s in the in the Charleston Square area across from Lowdermilk Beach Park. Great food and much better prices than the hotel.

Not as good as it used to be...

We love the Edgewater - but our trip in July opened our eyes to some big changes at the hotel. For whatever reason, we found the Edgewater had become a noisy late-night party place. While we were there we experience one family reunion, and one wedding party - that went well into the next morning, with screaming, yelling, foul language and drunken behaviour. I’m all for parties, but after 1:00am - give it a rest.

Love the location.......

We were booked to stay in the towers which have been beautifully remodeled. However, we asked to see a suite closer to the beach and, although it had not yet been remodeled, we loved it! Spacious, with a wonderful view of the ocean, and only an elevator ride away from the pool. Hotel’s location is fairly close to classy shopping/restaurant districts. This is our second time to stay here, and we would be happy to go back.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Restaurants are pretty pricey, so we took full advantage of the kitchen for breakfasts and lunches. Lunches on our ocean view balcony were a marvelous way to relax. If you enjoy wildlife, be sure to ask locals for directions to Turner Road to view alligators in the wild. Manatee can also be found in the region

Everything I expected and more

The suite was wonderful. And the view! I took some great photos from the room, the pool deck and the beach. Being located near Rte 41 afforded us the ability to get around easily. Great vacation!

Edgewater Beach

This was our fourth or fifith visit to edgewater. It has a great location on the beach. ON arrival they did not have the room we requested but were very accomodating and gave us an upgrade to the penthouse on the next night and a credit of $!65 which was very generous. The only complaint I have is that the AC cannot be regulated to a tem below about 68 (even though you can set is at 65). It was fine for the time we were there but could be a problem in warmer weather. I did not eat in the restaurant which is right in the lobby and not very attractive. The lunch area at the pool gets very crowded and tables are difficult to come by. Overall it is not a 5 star hotel but is very nice and does have a 5 star location on the beach in Naples which is relatively rare.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Walking down to the pier at any time of day is wonderful but especially as the sun sets.

Perfect vacation!

We stayed 5 nights and upgraded our room to an ocean view, which was well worth it. The view from our balcony was amazing. Each morning the dolphins were in the water and at night we could hear the waves from the gulf. The beach was clean, staff was always there to help. We never used the swimming pools, but there were always a lot of people there. Great hotel for families or for a romantic getaway!

Traveler's tip on dining

We asked the locals where to eat and we kept getting referrals to a place called Grouper and Chips. We had sweet potato encrusted salmon and it melted in your mouth. You will not be impressed with the establishment, (it is clean with no frills) but the food is awesome. They only have about 10 tables, so get there early for lunch. Also ate at the Bayfront Rest. in Venetian Village. Nice view, music and food!

A [Too] Hot Time In Naples

The hotel was basically a positive experience, well located and right on the beach, which was quite lovely. The hotel appears to have been updated about 4 to 6 years ago, and was in pleasant shape and generally well maintained, although showing some slight signs of its age (e.g., paint on the balcony railings was peeling). My one major complaint was that the room thermostat was reading way too low, so the room never properly cooled, especially at night when it was impossible to sleep under the otherwise comfortable king bed’s heavy blanket without profusely sweating from the heat. This appears to be a chain-wide problem, because I had exactly the same "problem" with another hotel managed by the same company. Despite asking maintenance (at both hotels) to fix the thermostat, nothing was done to solve the issue. The thermostat was apparently set to read 11-13 degrees (Farenheight) too low, and although it was set at 65, the lowest setting, the main room never cooled below 75, and the bedroom was slightly warmer. Ironically, the hallway just outside the room was very (if not too) cool. Obviously the hotel is trying to save on energy costs, but this kind of deception is unacceptable. If you enter your room at this hotel and fing the thermostat set to 65, and the room isn’t frigid with moisture on the windows, complain immediately and repeatedly, although from my experiences this might not make any difference.

not really

Not quite as expected. It has an air of "grand hotel" at the beginning but is not really like that. We’ve waited one hour for check up, the south and north wings elevators smelled bad, we found ants in the bathroom and the balcony door was stuck. The two pools and the beach are nice.

Traveler's tip on dining

The location is good, close to 5th St and mall.

Nice, but...

Overall the rooms were spacious and clean, however, although they are a smoke free hotel, our first room smelled like an ashtray. The hotel was sold out and we were unable to change rooms until the next day, we bought candles & lysol to help with the smell. Hotel staff was very helpfull & tried to accomodate by providing us with an ionizer which didn’t help. The second room’s a/c didn’t work well.

Rick from Miami

Hotel was very nice and staff were cordial. the first room we checked into was musty and smelled like cigarette, but once the hotel was notified, they changed our room to another, that was just perfect... the hotel is located close to 5th street and the beach was the back yard.. which not a lot of hotels in naples offer both of these incentives.... We had a nice time..

AWESOME!! Great Family Fun

This hotel was awesome for our family. The pool and beach facilities were great. The pool staff was very friendly. Live entertainment by the pool on the weekend. We had a GREAT time.

Towel service at beach and pool. They have a wonderful shower/changing room so if you want to swim after your checkout time, you can still clean up for the trip home.

Nice Experience

Edgwater Beach was a very nice experience. Marcel at the front desk was extremely helpful..opening the gift shop after hours so we could purchase aloe lotion for our sunburn. Lots of families and staff was very kid friendly. We saw dolphins from the beach almost every day and the shelling is great. Room was a bit small and our "gulf view" could only be seen if you went out the front door and strained your neck. Otherwise, a pleasant trip.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT go on the Key West Express Trip unless you can handle about 300 people throwing up due to the rough waves. A 3 hour trip turned into 4 1/2 hours and we decided not to take the boat back. Charted a plane back for $900.00. Luckily we had the funds to do that.

mostly nice

Older hotel-old Florida ambience. We wanted a place with a separate bedroom. suite was nicely furnished-beach was beautiful. Suite smelled mildewy- they transferred us once but same problem. Hotel suggested we move to tower suite but did not follow up-don’t know if it would have been better.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

go to the beach for sunset-they ring a gong and let all of the children have a turn.

Excellent Service

The Edgewater Hotel is a very clean, well-maintained hotel located right on the beach. I cannot say enough about the service. Everyone was more than friendly and very helpful. While there was construction going on during my stay, it did not bother me in the least and they were more than apologetic. Prices at the outside bar were a little steep ($12 for a cocktail). There seemed to be alot of kids staying at the hotel and quite alot of yelling and screaming at the pool (kids were just having fun). While I prefer a quieter atmosphere, it was not that bothersome. I just moved to the beach. The beach was clean and well kept. No seaweed. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay there again in the future.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

There’s not a lot to do right in that area. But a short drive away (5 minutes) brings you to downtown Naples with lots of shopping and restaurants.

Love staying here every summer

Hotel accomodations are great. Especially Beachfront and Gulfview rooms. Hotel is not to large so the pool and beach area are not overcrowded. Just beware of the prices at the bar and restaurant they are outrageous. It is definately worth bringing your own drinks and food especially since rooms have kitchens. To give you an idea two strawberry diquiris were $25. Food is good, but a plate of fries is $12. BE WARNED!!!
