Beachfront room in Mackinaw

The hotel was clean and comfortable and the view of Lake Huron from the room was great. The Breakfast room was big enough and had a good selection of food for breakfast. The staff was very courtious. Price was good

Not Impressed

Very poor quality hotels with dirty floors and damp walls. Did not get service promised, screwed my vacation.

was a decient resonable priced hotel to use as a base to see all the wounderful things the area h as to offer. If you plan on spending a lot of time in the hotel you might want to consider somewhere else. It was clean and quiet.

would definitely stay there again

We had an amazing view of the boats coming and going from our beachview balcony. It was quiet and peaceful and very relaxing. A very clean room is always a must and this one was exactly that.

Would come back again

When we got there a little after 11:00am - we could check into our room! They brought the rollaway bed just after we brought our luggage in. The hotel is situated in a great spot to access the ferry boats to the Island and shopping and night time establishments are just a short walk if you don’t want to take your car. The breakfast in the morning is outstanding! Definitely would stay here again! Met our needs!

Ok hotel but not flexible for early departure

The hotel was nothing special, not bad, not great, just ok. The real bummer was that my infant son became ill and we had to leave two days early. We had to eat the cost of those two days which made the stay disappointing. Next time we go to Macinaw City, we’ll stay somewhere else.

Great Value

The Mackinaw Super 8 was a great value for the money. The staff was friendly, service was good, the rooms were clean and their breakfast included more than just cereal and coffee. They had a DIY waffle iron, fruit and hard-boiled eggs available.

the room was one of the cleaniest we have stayed in and the staff went well beyound their duty espically cliff, my wife and i rode in on memorial weekend at 11:30 at nite on our harley and it was cold, when we checked in he told us to go into the sauna room he would open up so we could get warm,with that kind of extra service we will alwasys stay there.

Very Nice Hotel

It was a very nice room, the beds were a bit hard and the pillows flat. The inroom coffee was great and extra servings were left just by asking. They tend to leave the window open after cleaning the room but stopped after I said something. All in all we had a wonderful time and they were most nice!

You can save money by getting a few things at the IGA and with inroom fridge it helps so you can shop more!!

Needs updating and better coffee!

This hotel has decor from the 80’s and it is time to update as it has a worn appeal. The fact that it is on the water is very good. Though it is not a fresh, modern hotel, the service was very good. (TV did not function correctly/someone immediately came to fix it after 10 pm). The in room coffee is not drinkable; there are ads everywhere for Starbucks coffee BUT it is not served there, it is at a retail location called Mackinaw Sweets so that was puzzling. There are other hotels on the water that are much newer or updated just a few doors down. Again, though, the people who work at Super 8 were very accomodating as we had several requests, so high marks for service!

Would Stay Here Again

We had a nice room on the beach and our young boys loved it. The only complaint I had was the deck - lots of spiders - and I mean a lot. So bad in fact that since the slider door didn’t close tightly we had to keep it closed and have the air conditioning on.

Parking for car with boat trailer was no problem.

this hotel did not allow early check in and the housekeeping was knocking on our door an hour before check out time.

Nice place to stay for a one nighter

The hotel was nice and it was clean. The private beach was enjoyable. The continental breakfast area was really small and crampt and everybody was reaching over everybody to get what they wanted so we took the food to our room, otherwise it was a nice quiet place.

Small but comfortable

Small but clean hotel rooms. We had 1 queen bed. Room also had a love seat.

Wonderful location

We can recommend the Super8Motel Beachfront because of the wonderful location and the beachfront rooms. The rooms are large and comfortable, our both rooms were connected by a door. It was very quit at night. You can reach everything easy without using your car and the prices are reasonable (breakfast was included). We didn’t use the indoor pool but it looks nice too.

Comfortable stay

There are 2 Super 8 Motels on the same street, so I obviously went to the wrong one first, but the staff at the front desk quickly realized the mix-up (it seemed like they were accustomed to it) and directed me to the right address. This Super 8 has a private beach that is beautiful. It was a cold morning when we had a chance to check it out, but we enjoyed the view of the lake and clean beach from the pretty little log swing set up on the beach. The one issue I had was at check in. The motel’s policy dictates a check-in time of 3pm. We arrived in Mackinaw city at 1pm, and the staff wouldn’t check us in until 3. They claimed that there were no rooms available. I wasn’t upset for long though because they asked us to feel free to help ourselves to coffee or tea from the cafeteria and told us that we could check in after we got back from our planned afternoon trip to Mackinac Island. The ferry boat was just a few blocks down the road - a pleasant short walk, the cold and wind notwithstanding. The hotel staff had given us discount coupons for the ferry and some maps and information on the island which were very helpful. Overall it was a great experience. If the opportunity arises, I would definitely stay there again.
