Palermo - 1 night
Would I recommend this hotel to others, there needs to be a MAYBE button. The front desk person at check-in was strictly business-not friendly at all. Room was OK but definitely not what a 4-star hotel is in US. It was clean & neat, sparsely furnished, & had firm beds. Key did not work & had to get another made. NO PARKING (except about 6 blocks away at an underground garage that I was afraid to put the car into. I was surprised parking was not available. 7:30 am, no hot water. Hotel staff didnt believe me, said to let it run. 7:45 still didnt believe me, sent housekeeping. No hot water on entire floor. 8:30 offered room on 7th floor. Had taken an cold shower by then. Declined offer since we were leaving. View was of backs of other buildings, but the window did open. One English-speaking channel on TV which was news. Id recommend hotel only if youre planning a short stay & arriving by taxi. Lots of shopping and tourist attractions close by. Dinner at a wine bar next door, was convenient & very good. Hotel breakfast was adequate & saved us from having to find it elsewhere. It was not a hot buffet. If you expect American hotel standards in Sicily, this is not the place & I think 4-stars might be stretching it a bit even by European standards.

Good place to stay!
I stayed there for one night while visiting relatives and on my way to a conference in Erice the next day. The service was perfect, it was right around the corner from a great "self-service" restaurant, and it is in perhaps the best tourist spot in Palermo. The only low point was that the hotel has no iron to let to its clients, so if you are traveling for business and need to look good - bring your own!
Traveler's tip for business travelers
Bring your own iron.

Good Overall
Looks better inside than outside. Good location and breakfest. Our room was bigger than in comparable, nearby Hotel Jolie but was more expensive as well. Nearby Trattoria Novecento on E.Amari was decent.
Traveler's tip
Nearby Trattoria Novecento on E.Amari was decent (excellent icecream). About 10 minute walk to the Politeama stop of the airport shuttle.
