Loved it
I had a studio apt that overlooked the pool. It was absolutely fantastic. The cleaning staff was great and so was the lobby staff

Not what I expected
The swimming pool water was not too clean. Front desk was super rude. I am used to staying at other places where staff is friendly and go an extra mile to make you feel welcome. When I called for extra towels they transferred me to housekeeping and they did not answer. I called back to front desk and asked if there was another way of getting towels, he just said no and hung up. Security was not enforced, I saw people going in and out, the wristband were useless. We requested a wake up call and never got one. I must say though my friend loved the breakfast and the view from the restaurant. Ocho Rios was nice, our hotel was not the best experience though. We definately wont go back to Sandcastles or would recommend it to anyone. We were not in the room too much, we tried to make the best out of our time in Jamaica and we did!!! Erie Mon! We went to Negril, Montego Bay, Duns River Falls, Ricks Cafe. So we really enjoyed it! Definately going back, just not staying at Sandcastles.

Not what expected... try to look for other option
This was the cheapest option offered by Expedia. I was on a business trip in Kingston and had a free unexpected day, therefore I had to get to visit one of Jamaicas beaches. Ocho Rios was the recommendation. I didnt have the time to look much, the reservation was made the same day, but Ill recommend that if ou have the time, to look for other options. I arrived at night, the hotel doesnt have restaruant service, they only serve breakfast and most nearby rests were closed. WIFI service only reachable on the pool area The front desk clerks were not kind. The pool is very little. Although it has beach front, you have to walk 100 feet to the main entrance cause the beach is fenced. Be prepared to be interrupted from locals selling water sports and other stuff.
Traveler's tip for business travelers
If you have a spare day on Kingston, dont go to Ocho Rios, is a 2 hour bus drive and not worth it. There is another beach, where you can relax near the airport. It is nice and calm
