Holiday Inn Santa Fe

Not comming back here.

The rooms were clean, but there was a broken light fixture, and an insufficent number of toiletres in the first room, and an insuffiucient number of hangers in the second room. The restroom outside of the dining room wasn’t clean. Both pools were closed. No one greeted us in the dining room. The dining room displayed many tables that were either not set or showing the dirty dishes of previous guests. Our table was set with dirty glasses and silverware. The wrong breakfast was served cold. The dirty items were not properly busssed. We arrived with our obviously autistic son and placed in an appropriatly location in an end unit on the top floor. After a couple of nights, we recieved a call complaining of noisy children from above and below. Being on the top floor we can only wonder who was staying on the roof? With so many obvious vacancies why would they would choose to put new guests below a room with children, never mind a child with obvious challanges? They did offer to refund our breakfast expenses. I would not recommend this hotel. We’ve had much better stays with Marriot and Hilton hotels in the past.

The neighboring family friendly brew pub offered good local fare at moderate prices. For more upscale dining Pasqual’s in the heart of town offered very good food and a very decent wine list. Though highly recommended, it is a bit pricey. Pasquals dining room is charming, but small, I strongly suggest making reservations early. We traveled through the very small local Santa Fe’ airport. Before our departure we were told that their deicing equipment was not available that day and we were shuttled to the Alberqurque airport. Considering the alttitude this was a very curious situation.The Hertz rental car employees at the Santa Fe airport couldn’t have been more cooperative in dealing with the uncertaincies of the airlines.

Poor location

The room and service overall was good and the kids loved the indoor/outdoor pool. However, the location left a lot to be desired. Not only was it a significant distance from the Downtown Plaza the surrounding area of the hotel felt dismal. I would not have felt comfortable walking anywhere from this location.

If location is important select a hotel closer to downtown.

Really Great Hotel

I have never been to a hotel where the manager and workers addresses me by name....love that kind of personal service. Besides having a fridge and microwave which is always a bonus, the free Wi-Fi and other amenities were great. Nice bar and restaurant. Clean and comfortable. The best part: TONS OF PILLOWS....all makes and models.
