unreliable restaurant staff
Hotel stay was great. The restaurant’s breakfast staff was a "no show" on a Saturday morning! The hotel clerk and one cook were the only ones present at 6:30 AM. I had not eaten the night before due to coming in late (the restaurant closes at 8:30 PM) so I was anticipating a good breakfast. No manager in sight; no ’back up’ staff either! The numerous hotel guests were upset, to say the least, and the only other restaurant in town does not open till 8 AM. Fast food places were available. What a huge disappointment! I had a meeting to attend so I didn’t stay around. I would stay again at the hotel again ...... would probably make sure I had a cooler with plenty of food!

restaurant and hotel
restaurant within the hotel made this stay much more convenient and enjoyable. the gift shop had a clearance sale so that was very fortunate. staff displayed professionalism and promptness with meals and checkin/out of hotel.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
canyon entrance and visitor center is close by. No nightlife but would have been too tired to go out after a full day of sightseeing, hiking, and driving anyway.

Poor standards, good food
Many details of the hotel were just not 100%. Not enough towels (twice), water of the pool not clean, both vendor machines out of order, and poor communication about breakfast that should be included. I assumed having payed for breakfast, but that turned out to be a voucher covering the costs for only for 2 persons, not for the 4 of us. Poor communication, and the total picture suggests that management should be improved. Still, the staff was extremely friendly and the location ideal for the canyon, so I still recommend it to everyone.
