Quaint place to stay in VT
Overall it is what to expect from a structure built in the 18th century, there is only so much upgrading that can be done without destroying the character. The room was not exactly what we asked for, but that is what they had available. Overall comfortable and accomodating, the resturant on site was excellent.

Lovely Country Inn
We spent just one pleasant April night at the Quechee Inn. The grounds are very pretty and the inn has an old-style charm that (pardon the cliché) transports you back to yesteryear. The cozy gathering room with its wooden ceiling beams and red brick floor is the perfect place to read a magazine or play a board game (there are several available). Lemonade and cookies are served from 3-5PM (a nice touch for weary travelers who had spent the last 9 hours driving). A large porch upstairs is the perfect spot to read the history of the inn that is printed in the guest book. The rooms are bright and cheerfully decorated. We enjoyed a good nights rest because the inn was very quiet. The complimentary breakfast, served in the charming restaurant with its fine table linens, was wonderful. We helped ourselves to slices of fresh fruit, (pineapple, navel oranges, and cantaloupe), blueberry muffins, and homemade granola. A friendly server brought us coffee, juice, and hot items cooked to order. (You may choose from eggs, French toast, bacon, sausage, and hash browns). Although we did not have dinner at the inn, we plan on doing so the next time we stay there.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Bring comfortable shoes as Quechee and nearby Woodstock are wonderful walking towns. If you are creatively inclined, a sketchbook or notebook will help capture your feelings on paper. In Quechee, be sure to visit the gorge. An evening stroll down Woodstocks main street is a delight for those who appreciate fine architecture and craftsmanship. And dont forget the grounds of the Inn itself, and the pond just across the street from it--a perfect spot to unwind with Mother Nature.
