Room was dirty upon arrival - First and LAST stay with Microtel!
I arrived late and found the bed and bathroom to be dirty -- not what you want to find at 10:30pm after an 8 hour drive. The hotel had ONE staff member at that point who could not even bring me a fresh pair of sheets as she had to stay at the front desk. As it was an Alabama football weekend, the rest of the hotel was sold out as well as other surrounding hotels, so I could not be moved. After my third call and a trip to the front desk, the attendent put a "back in 5 minutes" sign up and came to clean my bathroom and provide fresh linens. She was very gracious and apologetic and assured me that a refund would be processed by management the very next day. Management had no interest in helping facilitate a refund and acted as though I was wasting their time. After 5 days, I finally had to involve Expedia to receive my money back. It was my first and LAST stay with Microtel.

Great Value
We didn’t know what to expect from this hotel, given that we had only booked it in order to allow us to stop on our drive to Florida. We were very impressed with the overall quality of the hotel. From the customer service to the cleanliness of the room, everything was great. The room was small, similar to what you would expect in Manhattan or Europe, but everything looked to be new, from the sheets to the flat screen TV. We would definitely stay here again.
