Cant beat the location if traveling via train. The front desk person was awesome! Would return. More spacious then expected.

Would Stay Again
This hotel was near train station and close to the cruise terminal. The staff at the hotel was very pleasant and helpful. THe breakfast room was sunny and bright and very good. We would stay here again.

Not impressed
Spent one night here in transit from Avignon, France to Siena, Italy. Chosen for its proximity to the train station, waterfront, and price; there were other hotels on the water that were a lot more expensive (this hotel was NOT on the water). Located on a tiny side street about 5 min walk from the station. There were mouse traps on each landing on the stairwell, which was more of a fire exit stairway than main stairway, but we did not see any other sign of mice. The only other way up to the room was a slow elevator. First room we were offered was a TINY room that reeked of cigarette smoke and had a double bed. Rejected that room for the smell and got a larger, nicer room with king bed and no smell. Carpet fairly dirty but bed, surfaces, and bathroom were clean. Desk clerks were very pleasant.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
No good restaurants close by, but decent gelato place about 1 min away. Restaurants and beautiful piazzas and churches not too far, maybe 10 or 15 min walk. Genoa is a working city not really geared toward tourists, so we got a good look at how "real" Italians live when we took a walk to find somewhere to eat. There was an aquarium very close to the train station but no time to visit it.
