Sarasota Hotel & Marina

For price a good place to stay.

The Hotel does not look very nice on the outside but the lobby was beautiful. The service was great and friendly. The three things that bothered me were: 1) A lot of extention cords 2) Water never gets hot,is warm and 3) cutting grass outside of my window at 8 in the morning (woke the baby up). The room was clean and a good price for what it cost. They provided a free porta crib for my grand daughter. The food and drinks at the Tiki Bar were delicious. I would stay here.

There are several good places to eat close by and it only takes about 15 minutes to get to the beautiful beach. Also very close to the airport.

wonderful hotel

rooms are clean,hotel staff was very friendly,the pool is large and heated ,fitness room has new cardio machines but lacks any strentgh training equipment. overall a great hotel for a great price

Great Place to Stay!

We loved the hotel! The marina view was wonderful, the staff was friendly, the tiki bar was great to relax at, and the amenities went beyond our expectations by including a free business center. For the price, we could not have done better! The downside was a loud air conditioner and needing to ask for an ice bucket. However, they did send a repairman up to fix the noise within an hr. of being told, and got us an ice bucket by day two. Overall our experience was wonderful and we would more than consider this hotel on a return trip.

Great Place to Stay

Had a wonderful stay, when I booked the room I requested double beds for me and my 2 boys they had no problem doing this for me, I was also booked in a non-marina side room but to my suprise that is what we recieved (which was great). We were able to check in early with no problems. I will return and have already recommended them to other people who have already booked reservations with them.

No hot water in shower even after letting run for long period of time. Same for the sink. Sink did not drain properly. Toilet ran water. Toilet was loose. Carpet was torn at doorway entrance. Lighting in bathroom stopped working. 2AM until early morning large group of people outside yelling and screaming sand volley ball court.

Good Hotel With a few Problems

Hotel is not far from the beach near resturants is reasonably clean. Our room overlooked the Marina with a nice view. The pool was good although not as large as some hotels of that size have. Now for the bad, our room wasn’t cleaned during our stay. We tried getting a price break when checking out we were basically told tough luck. Drunks were playing volleyball outside the room. Even though it was entertaining watching them stare as the ball went by and run headlong into each other for a while, it was noisy when trying to do anything in the room.

The twn is rush rush none of that grt bch twn feel. If you read saw the The Top 10 Bchs review in U.S. with Siesta Key at #2 save a trip, snd not that grt, no waves, a deep beach but not very wide parking trble. The day we went was on the W.E. and saw 2 near fist fts. and one actual in the park lot, unless UR lucky b ready to search for at least 30 min looking for spot. If you like drking bring your cooler people were drk beer in the oc and mix drnks on shr. Nearby Lido beach is much better.

Going back this week

I think the key is to get one of the rooms that has been updated. Ours had a frig, microwave and burners. It was very clean and facing the marina. The wifi was free and worked great.

Loved it!

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. All of the beauty is behind it. There are boats in a marina, a large outdoor pool, and a tiki bar where you can buy food and drinks. The restaurant wasn’t open because they were in the process of changing ownership, but there was a magic show at night. The rooms were just average and maybe the bathroom needed some updating, but the price was right. We will definitely stay there again.

The rooms too small, old building, not too clean. do not recommend it.

Not Impressed

For the price and "Marina View" I thought I was getting much more. All rooms DID NOT have cable/HBO, nor did they all have plasma TVs. The vanity area was infested with small ants of some sort, and the ceiling was severely water-damaged. The "non-smoking" room smelled like cigarettes, and there were cigarette burns on the comforter. The window from which you could enjoy your "Marina View" was no wider than 3 feet. The only relief was that I did not go to Florida to stay in the hotel. If you know you’ll be out and about a lot, then go for it. If you want a nice room look elsewhere.

Get a room without a "Bay/Ocean/Marina View" and simply walk to the bay, ocean, or marina. You’ll get to enjoy the scenary without the big price tag.

Disgusting

I am usually a very laid back guy and do not really review where I’ve stayed but this one I cannot keep quiet about. -The room smelled like stale cigarettes. -There were lot of young kids being very rowdy outside, especially on the sand volleyball court. -The phone did not work the 4 nights we were there. -The internet didn’t work. -Walking around barefoot made your feet turn black. -Absolutely no shower pressure. -Had to tell the maid ’no’ 5x in the morning for room service.

Last Spring Training in Sarasota :(

My two daughters & I spent a week at this hotel. We were visiting for the last Cincinnati Red’s Spring Training in Sarasota. We stayed at this location as it was convenient to the ballpark. We stayed in a "Marina View" room on the second floor. We were not fortunate enough to stay in a newly remodled room but our room was clean & comfortable with a beautiful view. We had a microwave & mini-fridge that was nice for breakfast, drinks & snacks. The heated pool was not heated. The contential breakfast was not available. The food & drinks from the Tiki Bar were very good & resonably priced. The "specials" was a very good value. Most of the staff were friendly. I have no real complaints & would probably stay here again.

wonderful setting , poor service, lack of basic linens.

This hotel needs to get it together. The first room was so smoke filled and smelly that we refused it. The only other availabe room that would sleep 3. King + small sofa. Well they had no pillows or blankets for the pull-out. So we had to borrow a pillow from the lobby furniture. No pillowcase. King bed had only two pillows. Room was clean. pool area and bar fine. Good music. Just the lack of bedding and to be told they did not have any was quite upsetting. We did not have a view from this room and also the lobby had a funny smell. We are former bed and breakfast owners so we know how the little things count. Bad smells are big things. I would suggest a good cleaning of the lobby.

Vist Longboat Key and Anna Maria Island. Restaurant down the road from the hotel. Anna Maria Oyster Bar, was wonderful and inexpensive. A real treat. Breakfast at Crzer’s was also great.

Very happy with accommodations.

Enjoyed the stay. Room was very clean; enjoyed staying on the water side. Excellent bathroom and shower arrangement. Happy with coffeemaker & coffee supply. King bed was very comfortable and clean. Would suggest more lawn chairs on the premises and would like a continental breakfast. Enjoyed the tiki bar & sandwiches. Felt very safe and enjoyed being on inlet to the intercoastal.

Not clean, including the bed, carpet and bathroom.

Cheap but not enough to justify some issues

Problems with the cleaning ladies, they skipped the room a day. Location is fine but you will need a car.

Not worthy of 3 star rating

This hotel has a nice view of a small marina, but overall I wouldn’t recommend it. There is a Tiki Bar on site that is very loud at night. The front desk didn’t answer the phone. The water in the shower was only luke warm. My room was one of the older ones and it had an unpleasant smell, like it might have been a former smoking room. The bed was not comfortable. I got locked out of my room twice because my electronic key didn’t work.

Had to move the tv did not work. Moved to an other room remote did not work in that room. blinds had a gap at both side could look in room. In both rooms

Don’t Do it!

Terrible service, room was gross, 3 towels for a family of 4. didn’t give us a crib that we requested weeks in advance, carpet looked 20 years old, staff was rude. Marina was nice and so was the pool. But if you want a nice clean room and good service... this IS NOT the place for you.

I’ll be back!

I booked this online, sight unseen and was pleasantly surprised. My room was on the Marina side and what a beautiful view. Nice place to stay and the price is right!
