For the price absolutely acceptable hotel
It is a simple hotel, rather new, clean, English speaking personal at the desk. Price and hotel/rooms fit. Area of the hotel is bad. The are is badly recommendate. Taxi price agreement with hotel and smileTaxi company is quite ok.

Gotta love the Dodo!
Spanking-new, comfortable, low-cost hotel located southeast of the city center. Clean and basic, and staffed with a friendly, helpful crew. And, unlike many low-cost Euro hotels, the rooms are not closet-sized, but actually quite adequate. The #7, 9 and 3 trams frequently stop just a block away, with six quick stops to the central train/bus station. And, just across the tracks is a small cafe offering lunch-plates for about $4 (but no dinner service). Just across the street from the hotel is a small convenience store. The only problem with the location is that the neighborhood is rather ’gritty’, with several burned-out buildings lining the path into the city center. But, considering the price, this hotel is an absolute winner for travelers on a budget.

Good budget hotel in Riga
Clean, cheap, friendly. The only problem is the lack of telephone in the rooms. Outside calls have to be made at the receptionist’s desk. Hotel is a block away from the #3 tram line.
