Good location, reasonable price, but not a great experience
The hotel is located close to Canary Wharf, which is excellent for business travellers. Overall impression of the hotel is that, though not very old, it has seen better days. There is no possibility for internet connection in the room (!) and room amenities are sub-par. There is also potential for noise from the passing DLR. The hotel has a gym, but you have to pay and once in, it is a getto experience (old rusty equipment and muscular types in tank tops making loud noises while lifting weights...) If you are on a budget and must stay close to Canary Wharf, this may be your only option. But great it aint.

Local Transportation Made Easy
This hotel is close to the Canary Wharf Underground and DLR. Both are easy to use and will get you to the heart of London in minutes. Just remember to pack as light as possible and you wont have to worry about multiple bags and luggage.
Traveler's tip on shopping
If you love chocolates like I do, you can find the Charbonnel et Walker Chocolatier at the Canary Wharf shopping area. Its worth the walk and you have a large choice of chocolates to include the Queens favorites!

every thing extra
hotel says pool.(2.5 lb extra per day. 10 lb per day deposit for hotel services(local phone messages etc.)Refunded if not used but ties up a lot of money on your credit card (esp. on a 3 week stay). 1 elevator out of order for our enitre stay( esp. bad when all tours leave at 8:00 am- we walked down 9floors often). Room large by eurpoean standards (& USA too). No mini fridge. Lots of ice from the bar( what do you do with all that ice!). Clean, food & rest. service poor. Deli across the street is great. When we said hotel is ok the barman said everyone hates it. We did express check out-leaving(pm before) in early am-no wake up call(no deposit on file).Price was right & we only slept there, may go back but a little ride from central London.
