Stay with Friends in Pisa, Italy!
What a secret! Just a few miles from the center of the city of Pisa is a small village with a SUPER CLEAN Bed and Breakfast and a great little pizza shop across the street. The Pisa Holidays B&B was fantastic. The Hosts were like dear friends in a matter of minutes and made sure everything was fine when we arrived late the first night. The Breakfast was small and mostly cereal but we always had fresh made Italian Coffee!!! There was always juices and yogurts available. After a healthy breakfast you can drive a few minutes to the center of town or to the train station to tour the area. During our stay we took the train almost everywhere. When our car broke the Hosts even drove us and our two kids to the the center of town or to the train station so our vacation was saved (try to find that kind of service at a hotel...) The rooms were a comfortable size and everything was SUPER CLEAN!!! This is NOT a big hotel... Just 5 rooms. The area was safe and quiet. I cannot recommend this B&B enough. This is truly a hidden secret off the beaten path, but close to sites and stations!
Traveler's tip
The Parking is Free but if you arrive by taxi, tell the drive to take you to "Metato" It is about 20 Euros from the train station. There is a fun Pizza Shop across the street open only at night that serves beer and wine. Order the second pizza on the menu, fantastic! There is also a small supermarket .25 miles further down the street, stock up on meats, cheeses, and breads for a great picnic in the city or on the train.
