Excellent Ambience
The hotel itself was marvellous. The decor impressive. The only thing that one should consider is that if you will be travelling to Guangzhou itself frequently during your stay, then do NOT stay here. That’s because you’ve gotta travel by taxi for about 40 minutes and taxis from Guangzhou do not really know how to get to this hotel. Even with the map provided by front office, the drivers more often than not, do get lost (sometimes, Im wondering if they did it on purpose). Anyhow, I tend to notice that the staff in general gave better services to the caucasians (I’m Asian) and I wondered why. I’m effectively bilingual and for the first two days conversed with the staff in Mandarin. On the third day, I tried speaking only English to all staff at the hotel and instantly, I got the service the whites were receiving! Its funny but the staff here tend to give better services if you speak English. Well, I guess they do not look very highly on their own people!
