Third Stay

I love this hotel. This was my third stay and I was there for 13 days. 13 days in a Hotel is a very long time. But somehow this hotel makes you feel at home. The room I always choose, and yes the staff is that accommodating whenever they can be, is good size but not huge, but is it extremely quiet, at the end of a hallway and has all the amenities and space a traveler could want. Huge soaking tub, w/shower. Some rooms have huge walk in showers instead of tubs, so state your preference. They even offered me, at no charge, a bigger room with a balcony overlooking the park, because of my long stay. I stayed with my room. The staff is great! You don’t need to speak German, they speak English, and most are multi lingual. The breakfast selection is huge and all you can eat. Saves you from buying lunch, and is open until 11AM. Great area, two block to UBahn and trams. Walking distance to Stephansplatz. Safe area to walk in. Numerous cafes, and restaurants. Will be staying there again.

Don’t overpack, if going in late fall and winter, lots of layers. Good walking shoes/boots. Walking is the way to see the city, but the cobblestones can wear you down. You can avoid all the "Fake Mozarts" selling tickets etc by just ignoring them. Vienna is a city where most of the population dresses up, not down, so anything T shirts with logos, unless your a child, jackets with Team names on them, white sneakers, make you stand out like a sore thumb.

Quality hotel in a convenient location

Small clean rooms, excellent breakfast, helpful staff, good location.

Walk everywhere in Vienna. Getting there is half the fun.

Very Good

The K&K Palais has a wonderful location, close to everything but across from a quite park. There several subway stations near as well as tram stops. The rooms are of a good size and offer all the conforts needed. The beds are good and the closet is addecuate for travelers. In the bathroom it has an excellent shower. The breakfast buffet is good. I will try to stay there every time I go to Vienna.

Traveler's tip on dining

Try restaurants a little away from the main tourist area and you will find good food for less.

clean, friendly

The hotel was clean, and the rooms were surprisingly spacious. The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful, and spoke excellent English. The location was also nice, near downtown and some attractions, but far enough away that it was quiet.

Nice hotel at a good price

Staff was nice, helpful, and hotel was clean. In June 2009, the square across the street was fenced off for construction so the neighborhood feel was not ideal.

Superb stay in Vienna

We stayed at the K+K Palais Hotel in Vienna in early June. Everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations. The reservation was in order; the room ready, spacious, clean, and quiet. The breakfasts were most generous, with loads of hot and cold items. A great start. We were always greeted warmly and personally. The hotel is within the old town ring, near the canal, but within 5-10 minutes of the cathedral. Plenty of retaurants nearby. A wonderful experience

Great hotel- great location- beautiful setting!!!

Our stay at the K&K Palais was great! We were treated with care and respect from the moment we checked in until we left. The front desk was especially helpful regarding sites to see & places to eat. If we return to Vienna, we will definately stay at the K&K Palais.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

We took the Vienna panoramic & Dunube boat tour on our second day. My advice is to pass on this tour. They do not allow near enough time on the bus stops to really see much. We were given 10 minutes to view the city from the panoramic outlook. The Danube portion was great however. Next time, we’ll tour the city ourselves and book a Danube boat tour separately.

Wonderful

K&K Palais in Vienna was wonderful. We were there in Feb. It was warm, clean, friendly and easy to walk to Interstadt and public transportation. Friendly bars and resturants nearby. Quiet with sophisicated city atmosphere. Great stay. Would definitely go back.

Very nice hotel with great staff.

This hotel is perfectly located...walking distance to all of central Vienna with train system also close by. The rooms are clean and nice and a very good size. Staff is extremely helpful. The breakfast is very nice. I highly recommend this hotel. I also stayed K+K in Prague which was even more incredible with the most amazing breakfast buffet. K=K appears to be an excellent chain.

Very nice hotel

Fantastic hotel. Very updated and modern. Very clean, staff is extremely friendly and helpful and speak English fluently. I had a single room, which had plenty of space. TV has 3 English language channels. Large soaking tub with shower, heated towel racks. Very quiet room, safe in room, comfortable bed. Great breakfast included, served from 6AM to 11AM. Eggs, pastries, cold cuts, yogurt, fresh juice, etc., all you can eat. Great location 2 blocks either direction takes you to a U Bahn stop. Safe area to walk in. Within walking distance to everywhere. Would definitely stay there again. Free use of computers with wifi. Internet hookup in rooms also for free.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Wear comfortable shoes, don’t over pack. This time of year, layers, gloves, hat and scarf. Don’t wear sneakers, or team jackets. Dress conservatively and you’ll feel at home. Venture into the little cafes, most people speak English and will be welcoming.

A Charming Vienna Hotel

Charming, in walking distance of old churches, fine dining and shopping. Inside the "ring" and 2 blocks from the Danube.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Grocery store one block away.

Small and quiet

This nice hotel in Vienna is in walking distance of the tram and underground transportation, as well as of Stephansplatz which is a lively shopping area. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood facing a small park, and since the hotel itself is only about 66 rooms, it was very quiet at night. The breakfast room has a very nice buffet breakfast, and the small bar has very comfortable seating. We would definitely stay here again.

A Wonderful Stay

We had never been to Vienna before and had no idea what to expect for accomodattions. We split our 2-wks into 4 different locations and we were so pleased and impressed with the accomodations at K&K. The room was a nice size and the breakfast was the best we had during the entire trip! The hotel looked like it had been recently remodeled and it was in a perfect location. We were able to walk everywhere and it was only a short walk to the underground and bus stop that went directly to the airport and only took 20 minutes. K&K is the best! I would definitely stay again and would try their other locations.

Off the beaten tract

This was an adequate hotel but I did not find it centrally located and at night I wish there were more people around as I walked to the hotel.

Long weekend in Vienna

I enjoyed the hotel. It was close to the center but I was not in the middle of the sites with all the crowds all the time. There were restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast was pretty good, but I did not eat supper there due to the fact supper appeared to be held in the bar area and I did not see anyone eat the evening meal at the hotel. I really liked it even though it was slightly expensive and I would consider staying at another K+K hotel in the future.

Perfect accommodations

We stayed at the K&K Palais Hotel for 2 nights before heading to Slovakia on business. Since we were not familiar with Vienna, we relied solely on the recommendations of other tourists’ reviews on Expedia. We were extremely pleased with our choice. The hotel is reasonably priced, exceptionally clean, safe and ideally located. It comes with a good breakfast and free internet service in the lobby for those not traveling with lap tops. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Traveler's tip on dining

We had dinner both evenings at the DeCorte Cafe on the opposite side of the park/street. The cozy restaurant featured delicious meals that were reasonably priced. We had an enjoyable time chatting with the owner about a variety of subjects.

Great Hotel!

On a recent trip to Vienna with my family for the holidays we stayed here. The hotel was great! The hotel staff was so friendly and helpful. They recommended wonderful area restaurants. The hotel was very new and nice! Our room was on the top floor and had a great view of the city and the park in front of the hotel. Our room was a great size for a European hotel and was very comfortable. The hotel was in close proximity to a metro stop and was very close to the heart of Vienna. Next time I am in Vienna I will stay at this hotel.

Worth A Second Visit

This hotel is about a 7 minute walk from St. Stephens, the Hofburg, and Kartnerstresse. There are two different U-bahn stops within easy walking distance, so it is ideally located. The neighborhood is safe and quiet with many restaurants and a Billa (grocery chain) a block away. The rooms are clean and newly furnished with minibar and safe, great breakfast, and free ethernet (wireless in the lobby) Beds are excellent. In fact, this hotel has been open for only a year and a half and is virtually spotless. I was also impressed by the young, friendly staff. All speak excellent English and give directions and solve problems with enthusiasm and kindness. There are cheaper places, but if you want the higher end of "moderate," this is it. I am making other business trips to Vienna in the near future and look forward to staying at the K&K Plalais again.

Traveler's tip

Traveler’s Tip: Be warned that the K&K Maris Theresa is apparently more well known than the Palais. I was fortunate to notice en route that the airport taxi dispatcher had ignored my direction and indicated the older hotel (a little further away from central Vienna).

A gem in downtown Vienna

I returned to the K&K Palais Hotel for a second time and was as impressed as on my first stay. This is extremely good value in close proximity to St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the main pedestrian zone. Tastefully furnished rooms with internet access, room safe and air conditioning. The buffet breakfast is fabulous.
