Great Location
For anyone wanting to visit DC, this is a great hotel to stay at. It is located in a great part of town, close to the metro, and has a lot to offer guests. My family of 5 was very comfortable and impressed.
Park at the Falls Church metro (parking is $4.50 for the day). You have to buy a one time parking pass to put your parking fee on each day. The metro ride into DC is about 25 minutes.

Long Beach Residence Inn is Excellent
Marriotts Residence Inn is my familys favorite hotel product of any on the market. While sometimes pricey, we can usually find rooms at pretty decent rates. And in this case, the rate for a penthouse suite was excellent, possibly because of the economy. Either way, this property did not fail to disappoint. Residence Inns are always top-notch.

Theres gotta be a better place to stay in Vienna, VA
I went to Vienna to get away from DC to do some work and just be in a new environment with less distractions. The hotel site said Id have a fireplace in my suite and this attracted me to select this hotel; there was no fireplace in room, but apparently, there was one in the room above me. The man above me burnt some toast and the fire alarm went off twice while I was there. Once in the evening and once at 5:21am while I was fast asleep (theres nothing like being jolted out of a restful sleep by a screeching alarm!) The hotel itself is OK and it has a little pool and some awning covered tables you can read and rest by. The kitchenettes only upgrade was the microwave; the fridge was old, the dishwasher was old, the stove was old, the dishes has to be cleaned before you used them, and the coffee maker didnt work. The bed was OK and the sitting areas were plentiful. There were 2 desks and a couch, so I felt I had good places to sit and spread all my study supplies out. However, who wants to stay in a room with 2 ants, a spidey, and a fly-yuck! When you book using a search engine, this hotel probably puts you in the most basic room they have. Is it worth staying here if you book directly? Im not sure what the other rooms look like, but having stayed at this same chain in another part of Virgnia, I was not impressed.
