Definitely a Boutique
Any experience I have had with a Le Meridien Hotel prior to this was always quite different. Big hotels. Easy to check in. Etc. I guess I missed the warning signs on the website that this really is a boutique hotel. We didnt have a bad experience at the hotel - it was pretty cool and definitely trendy, and the concierge was very helpful in setting up a restaurant reservation for us several days prior to actual stay. I guess my frustration was that my wife and I were travelling with our kids and were looking for a little more ease in checking-in, unloading, etc. than this hotel was able to offer. Parking is kind of a hassle - you can valet but because we had an SUV with a roof rack loaded with ski gear, they had to park in an open lot. That made me want to take the gear off and store it in a supply closet. I would recommend this hotel more for a couples weekend getaway.

Nice, clean **1/2
Located 10-15 minute walk to very good dining and shopping and McGill U and Concordia U. Clean, safe and relatively quiet area given the close proximity to everything. It shows signs of wear, but everything worked fine. Its a small charming hotel with a tiny lobby that fronts to a sidewalk. But they have friendly and helpful staff equivalent to many older independent hotels that youll find in Paris, London, Boston or San Francisco.
Traveler's tip on dining
The hotel has a good but unremarkable breakfast. Its a short walk or taxi to Crescent St. which is where the clubs and restaurants are. theres a great little patisserie and several chocolatiers within several blocks that are excellent.
