There’s A Reason They Bill Credit Cards Upfront
The rate vs quality of hotel room is not happening here. Either charge "budget" hotel rates, or else repair/correct 1) the squeaking/rumbling water pipes; 2) the shower tiles/shower head position (the 70s are long gone); (our teenager’s comment: "This bathroom creeps me out") 3) the odd smell in the room; 4) provide a real ironing board and iron (we were in a 2 double-bed, "non-smoking" room. When I enquired at the desk about an ironing board and iron, I was given a table-top ironing board and iron, and told that ironing boards/irons were only provided in King Suites (our teenager’s comment: "So, people who aren’t in King Suite rooms don’t care what they look like?"). The route through Cambridge is not our usual way to the east coast, but if we ever decide to go this way again, we’ll stay somewhere else.

No Hot Water
There are several other hotels within sight of this one. They have to be nicer. Shower water only marginally warmer than cold. Busted towel rack half hanging out of wall. It appeared to be a bother to the front desk to even check in.
